Hey *MWers*, I'd really love to share this. There's been so much talk on MW of the "old times" and rides that used to be at Disneyland so I couldn't help but to wonder what those times were like. I was just a year old in 1990 so I really wouldn't know what it was like. Hence the fact that my first visit was in 1996(?). I've been browsing videos online and I thought this was a great video showing Disney in 1990. I wish I was there at that time. It's so cool!! This video shows the 35th year Anniversary of Disney, & they are doing giveaway tickets that includes prizes such as cars and bonds! Was anybody there for this particular event? Or do you know any stories about it? I'm so fascinated by it! http://tinyurl.com/77p9rtz
Oh my gosh! I totally remember this! I was 10 years old in 1990 and I went to NYE at the park. I remember new Geo cars lined up in front of Disneyland (where DCA is located now) that they were giving them away. Also the most popular attraction at the time was Splash Mountain. If I can remember correctly it opened in July of 1989 so it was brand spanking new! - ohhhtoodles

Aaahhhh Gigi! A few months ago there was Retro Day on MW and it was so much fun! Everyone posted pics from back in the day. It was great! All the pictures were awesome. Maybe there will be another Retro Day do u can participate and enjoy the fun. 😄 - LaChona

I graduated in 1990 and me and my boyfriend at the time flew to Disneyland. I still have the tickets that say wether or not you won a prize. I remember it being amazing and I enjoyed it so much. wishing I would have took the time to watch the parade, but we were so young and only cared about the rides :) thanks for posting the video, really brought back memories - shellbelle

1990 was actually the first year we purchased AP's for the family as we lived in Huntington Beach and went to DL so much anyway. We must have gone to DL at least once a week and I have so many pix from the 35th Anniversary Parade and posted several on retro day. Great times. There are days I go through utube videos of the parks along with home movies my dad took with his 8mm camera I have since converted to VHS and now to DVD. - splashphotoCM

Oh wow I remember this I got to pull the lever and I think I won a Mickey watch but if I remember correctly my mom gave it to her friend because I was just interested in getting a churro I just wanted to pull the lever. Lol thanks for bringing back this memory for me. - GoofyFace
