I'm sure someone here will have the answer, since I can't find it elsewhere. I know you have to show id to purchase the socal resident deal (2 days/$99) but would you have to show id to use it at the park entrance? We are planning a trip in may with my brother and his family from out of state and we wanted to buy the tickets for them also :)
You don't not need your ID to enter the parks. - Bambi.

I've heard mixed reviews on that. Some people say they were asked to show proof of residence and some weren't. I wouldn't risk it because if they did get asked for proof, there goes all the money you spent on the tickets. I wouldn't do it for Karma reasons. It's supposed to be a deal for residents to enjoy the park, not for everyone to buy out of town relatives cheap tickets. - LaneSparrow316

From the Disney Parks Website: "The offer is limited to residents of Southern California (zip codes 90000-93599) and North Baja California (21000-22999)." If you don’t live in Southern California, we recently shared news of a special ticket for you. You can purchase the 3-day park-hopper ticket for $169. The 3-day ticket is available online at Disneyland.com/3days, or by calling 866-59-DISNEY. You can purchase the 3-day tickets from now through April 14, 2011, and you must purchase them before leaving home as this offer is not available at the ticket booths. Tickets must be used within 13 days of the first day of use and the first day of use must be no later than April 14, 2011." - LaneSparrow316 846.9 #106 5:21PM
2011? I think that is old info. The info I found was that 3 day Park hoppers are $214, or $199 (but this one has blackout dates). Shoot, if they are $169 I missed out! - PrincessKristin 774.5 #124 5:29PM
That's an old deal. The 2012 deal was $199 for a 3 day hopper. We did that then added a fourth day for 20 bucks a piece. - PeachKay 310.6 #554 7:17PM
My aunt who lives in OC got my BF and I tickets as a gift and used the SoCal discount....we were never asked to show proof of residency at the gate. I think as long as the credit card has a SoCal zip code, then you're good to buy them online. - Ms.Disney

When I bought mine they didn't ask for ID or my address or anything. Not when I went into the parks, either. - michelIe

i was told each socal resident can bring up to 10 guests, but you need to be there with them so maybe call DL and ask for clarification on that. my family has never been asked for id, and i am only when i am buying something. - secretagentangel 657.3 #158 7:23PM
I have bought tickets at Von's that are for local residents, but they do not ask when you use them. If you buy the tickets at the Dland ticket booth, they may ask you for proof that you live in SoCal(I'd, Mail addressed to you) - garrlusdland
