I have a question for everyone. I know that dinsney recently said that they would begin to enforce the fastpass return time. Does anyone know if they are actually doing this? I will be there tomorrow and it would be helpful to know.
They probably will start doing that sometime, but it won't be for a while. You won't have to worry about it tomorrow! - JoeDownTheRabbitHole

According to the CM working the FP machine at Star Tours this afternoon, they are not enforcing this at Disneyland right now. She went on to say that there is a start date planned, but doubts it will ever be enforced at Disneyland. Take that for what it's worth. - N2TheBlu

Not yet. Was able to use a fast pass today after the time on the pass had expired. - LilSterner

For the same reason fast passes were created in the first place... To get people out of the lines and rides and into the restaurants and stores. The decisions are purely financial - Bo22 331.1 #468 1:13AM
I asked a CM why awhile back when they were talking about it and the feeling is that the lines on the big rides are getting too long and if they enforce the fast pass time, it will reduce the standby line. thye announced it on the news last month but we just started trying to go in when the pass says anyway, when it does happen, you just will have to MW more to get your fastpasses for the time you want to go. - secretagentangel

they also said it was more for wdw but we will have to see on that! - secretagentangel 668.3 #155 1:33AM
Slightly off subject, but I hope they find a way to start enforcing the single rider policy. I know it's hard because people can claim they don't know each other and a big corporation like Disney doesn't want to "hurt feelings" in this politically correct society. I haven huge families all take advantage of the single rider line and all we can do is shake our heads as they get away with it. - Timsierramist

Are they really a problem, though? Never done single rider with a group, so Im curious. Don't they just put them in the extra spots, which they'd do whether they were in a group or not? - KylaShea 533.2 #214 5:57AM
The single rider lines aren't just for people who are solo at the parks or have nobody in their groups who want to ride with them. Signage and CMs will tell you that you will not be riding with others in your party. It's a great option to cut wait times because it ensures full ride capacities are being met. For example, if a party of five boards California Screamin', a CM draws from the single rider line to fill the vacant seat. If that person happens to be with a group of more than one, that group has now been split. It's not like you need to carry on an important conversation while on that two minute ride, so it doesn't matter that you have sat next to someone else. We used this option at WDW, and it was a huge time saver. We got to enjoy more rides and attractions this way. - susieQzee 480.6 #246 5:58AM
My brother (14) went on California Screamin about 70 (wish I was kidding) in a 4 day time period, us grown ups were done after the 1st time, he went through the single rider line all day, and had a blast. - GarnerPhotography

We used fast passes way beyond the time on the ticket this past week - never had a problem. A couple of times they were almost 8 hours past the time. - zigbear
