Okay guys, just a fun question to stir up conversation ... I know the Disney sequels are generally disliked (actually...loathed is almost a more appropriate word) but which one(s) did you find tolerable and which did you think was the most blasphemous (😝). For me, I actually really enjoyed The Lion King 2. The story was good, the animation was good and so were the songs. The only other two I can tolerate are The Little Mermaid 3 and Return to Neverland. I think the worst is a toss up between Hunchback 2 and Pocahontas 2. All due respect to anyone who enjoyed those, they just weren't my cup of tea :)

THE TOY STORY ONES :) HANDS DOWN!!! - TheREAL-Pocahontas  115.1 #2816 10:38PM
Hahaha I should make an edit! Those are so good I just almost consider them stand alone features, all one long movie but I totally agree!! - Aquata  292.2 #659 10:39PM
πŸ™Œ took the keys right out of my iphone keypad! - gigibunny2  242.7 #1080 10:41PM
YES! I say Toy Story too! - LizOβ„’  470.0 #258 10:46PM
"Breakin 2 - Electric Boogaloo" - SuperCooper  818.1 #112 11:08PM
B2: EB is one of the rare instances where a sequel outshines the original, in my opinion. - Jewelz  451.2 #274 11:16PM
Duh! - SuperCooper  818.1 #112 11:32PM
thank goodness they left Beat Street alone. poor Kid and Play, they got the bozack as well huh??? - littleoysterz  210.4 #1487 1:11AM
One's I like- Little Mermaid Return to the Sea, Aladdin and the King of Thieves, Pocahontas Journey to a New World, Lady and the Tramp 2, Rescuers Down Under!, Simba's Pride, Beauty and the Beast Enchanted Chirstmas, Return to Neverland. The one's I loathe- Fox and The Hound 2 The Most Unnecessary Sequel Ever and Belle's Magical Tales... If I didn't list it I'm indifferent about it or I haven't seen it. - MayBie  1864.2 #40 10:38PM
That (FATH2) was one that I never saw. It's that bad huh? I assume it's two new characters and not Todd and Copper right ? - Aquata  292.2 #659 10:42PM
That's why it's terrible- itt IS todd and copper. It's set in the middle of the original and shows them as kids. The adult characters personalities are different- Way more calm. The original was perfectly fine and they interested this fluff story -___ it has no depth at all. - MayBie  1864.2 #40 10:46PM
Yeah that sounds pointless -_- Thanks, I will most likely avoid that one unless I am begged by a small child with puppy dog eyes . - Aquata  292.2 #659 10:54PM
Rescuers down under *sticks fist in air* yes! - TheREAL-Pocahontas  115.1 #2816 11:02PM
AGREED!!!! Also loved Johanna in that movie xD - Aquata  292.2 #659 11:04PM
My favorite sequels of all time are defintaly the Toy Story sequels! The ones I thought were ok was the Beauty and the Beast Christmas movie, 102 Dalmations, and Kronks New Groove were ok. Pocahontas 2 was definetaly not my favorite! It was so corny and not well made. - JoeDownTheRabbitHole  395.9 #338 10:42PM
I was so sad and disappointed to see her go with John Rolfe. I know to historically accurate but... That just felt like it took a poo on the original and made everything they fought for in vain :/ - Aquata  292.2 #659 10:51PM
I love the Enchanted Christmas!! The organ is such a cool villain! - MayBie  1864.2 #40 10:57PM
Exactly! It felt like what they went through in the first one was for nothing. And they pretty much butchered the history in the first one. I wish they just stopped at the first one haha - JoeDownTheRabbitHole  395.9 #338 10:57PM
That's the one with the cute little talking tree angel, right ? - Aquata  292.2 #659 10:57PM
Yeah. I loved her attitude! - MayBie  1864.2 #40 11:00PM
The Organ was a great villain! He was legitamitaly scary haha. And yes it was with the tree angel. - JoeDownTheRabbitHole  395.9 #338 11:00PM
Agreed, the Enchanted Chrismas was good but I haven't seen it in AGES! - Aquata  292.2 #659 11:06PM
WHERE IS MY VHS PLAYER?!?! - MayBie  1864.2 #40 11:22PM
I know!!! This topic has given me a massive craving to watch The Rescuers Down Under!! - Aquata  292.2 #659 11:28PM
Lion king 2 was good! Toy story 2 was good too. Bad I can't think of any right now. - tswift13_Baileys  13.5 #5933 10:42PM
the little mermaid 2/3 were great because it contains ariel. - chris.  2507.3 #24 10:42PM
I liked 3 because her sisters were hilarious xD - Aquata  292.2 #659 10:47PM
and it showed what happened to ariel's mother : / - chris.  2507.3 #24 10:52PM
Yeah!! I had always wondered what happened to her. I only wish they had showed why Ursula was banished instead of having Marina as the villain - Aquata  292.2 #659 10:55PM
yeah they could've shown a lot more or done it differently. - chris.  2507.3 #24 10:57PM
Agreed. The whole music plot I wasn't crazy about but didn't hate it either. Just could've been so much better if it showed more history :) - Aquata  292.2 #659 11:08PM
Liked: Toy Story Sequels, Return to Neverland, POTC sequels, Aladdin 2, and Mulan. Hated: The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Little Mermaid 2, Pocahantas 2. I haven't bothered to watch all of the sequels. - Ain1derland  325.5 #500 10:42PM
I thought in comparison to the first, Hunchback two was really, really bad. I liked that Quasi found love but...but... And the animation!!!!! Talk about downgrade!! πŸ˜– - Aquata  292.2 #659 10:46PM
I know! I was a kid when it came out and I still thought it was bad. I just thought that they put almost no effort in it - Ain1derland  325.5 #500 11:50PM
Besides Toy Story and Cars, I have yet to watch any of the animated sequels. They always look like cheap crap and not worth my time lol. - Polkadobo  372.1 #372 10:41PM
Not sure if the recent Winnie the Pooh film is considered a sequel because the original was a series of tv shows, but THAT was excellent! Although toy story 2 and 3 are probably my favs. - Polkadobo  372.1 #372 10:45PM
Oops, I did not like POTC 2,3 (I haven't seen 4 yet) and I thought the original Tron was better than the sequel. - Polkadobo  372.1 #372 10:49PM
Some aren't that bad to be honest...watch some of them with an open mind and just remember they of course will never surpass the original. You may be pleasantly surprised. - Aquata  292.2 #659 10:49PM
Have to be honest, I tear up when I watch the Return to Neverland trailer. I'll probably end up watching them all now that I have kids. I think most of them came out after I worked at DL, while in college and I got in this anti-Disney merchandising mood for a while despite loving the parks and original films. It just seemed like they were milking classics for all their worth. - Polkadobo  372.1 #372 10:56PM
The end of Return to Neverland is bittersweet. A lot of people didn't like the main character Jane but I did. She was just a child that was forced to grow up way too fast. If you've ever been that child or known someone like that, you get it and understand why she is the way she is. But I highly recommend seeing it with your kids :) - Aquata  292.2 #659 11:21PM
I have to throw Pirates of the Caribbean in there... I've met people who strongly disagree but I just can't get enough of them! - gigibunny2  242.7 #1080 10:45PM
I LOVE the pirate sequels!! :D - PrincessMacy  503.0 #237 10:47PM
I didn't mind 3 and 4 but for some reason 2 kinda...bugs me. Not sure why really. Four was great though :) - Aquata  292.2 #659 10:56PM
I agree! Dead Mans Chest ... I could've done without. I loved On Stranger Tides the best because it focused more on Jack Sparrow instead of Will and Elizabeth. :) - PrincessMacy  503.0 #237 10:57PM
The curse of the black pearl is my all time fave, its a classic, - gigibunny2  242.7 #1080 11:08PM
Well see 2 bothered me because I thought Will and Elizabeth's story was pretty wrapped up in COTBP. I was surprised to see them back then sure enough, that plot just got silly and unnecessary...but Davey Jones was cool!! - Aquata  292.2 #659 11:11PM
Loved the Toy Story sequels. Liked The Lion King 2, and didn't want to ruin the originals by seeing any other sequels of classics. - tuesday737  1076.7 #79 10:48PM
I find that if it's a trilogy the third is usually close in quality to the first while the sequel is a a little lower. Like with Aladdin trilogy and Toy Story. I think most would say the 1st and 3rd are the best ones :) - MayBie  1864.2 #40 10:52PM
That's probably pretty true. I think that of TLM movies. Nothing against 2 it was just the same story as TLM except role reversal :/ 3 was cute :) - Aquata  292.2 #659 10:58PM
Definitely toy story 1 and 3 are awesome while 2 is just good. I'm not sure if you guys were aware but toy story 2 was originally supposed to be a straight to dvd film. John Lassader (spelled that wrong) saw it and thought it was Crap made changes and basics "saved" the toy story trilogy. It's interesting how things played out. I suggest watching A Pixar Story. Plus of pixar info :) - TheREAL-Pocahontas  115.1 #2816 10:59PM
Basically* - TheREAL-Pocahontas  115.1 #2816 11:00PM
I enjoyed all 3 equally. TS2 gave us Jessie and Bullseye :) Plus I never cease to crack up at Buzz's line "Soon you'll be sitting around the campfire with Andy eating tasty hot SHMOES!" - Aquata  292.2 #659 11:03PM
Back to the Future, and Indiana Jones are other examples of trilogies that have the strongest in 1st and 3rd movies IMO ( I refuse to acknowledge crystal skull. Trash:( ) - tuesday737  1076.7 #79 11:06PM
Hahha :) also I loved Jessies song, it made me cry. - TheREAL-Pocahontas  115.1 #2816 11:06PM
Nolan's Batman Saga is the one exception I've found. I think it's going to rank 2, 3, 1 - MayBie  1864.2 #40 11:09PM
I just get SUPER annoyed with sequels to classics. Cinderella 2 - tuesday737  1076.7 #79 11:10PM
Agreed about nolans Batman. So excited for the next one! - tuesday737  1076.7 #79 11:13PM
Yes!! The story with Jessie was actually a nice set up for TS3...because we all knew at that point that was coming . That Jessie was right. Andy would grow up just like Emily. I reared up at that part too and began to think of my past toys... - Aquata  292.2 #659 11:14PM
*teared (lol reared... πŸ˜‚) - Aquata  292.2 #659 11:17PM
*tear* toy story is such a great story:)!!! ..... And Yes!!! So excited for the new Batman. - TheREAL-Pocahontas  115.1 #2816 11:17PM
When I think sequel...Disney doesn't come to mind right away because the original is just that...original. To me~ sequel means T2: Judgment Day. *THE* sequel that surpasses all sequels IMHO :o) - HadMatter  351.2 #409 11:27PM
I vote T2 and The Dark Knight as the two best sequels that surpassed the original. - Aquata  292.2 #659 11:30PM
Aaahh!! I forgot about Homeward Bound! It was technically a sequel to a movie called "The Incredibly Journey" except the animals didn't talk in that one I believe. Then there was a Honeward Bound 2 and that wasn't as good as the first. I CRY when Shadow comes home in the end! - Aquata  292.2 #659 11:26PM
I always thought homeward bound was a remake of incredible journey - tuesday737  1076.7 #79 11:28PM
Was it? You may be right. Either way, remake or sequel it remains one of my favorite movies to this day :) If you have a dog or cat it makes that much better :) - Aquata  292.2 #659 11:31PM
I ugly cry when shadow comes home. - AshleyLynn22  747.6 #136 11:32PM
Good movies either way. Make me cry a little though. :( - tuesday737  1076.7 #79 11:34PM
Didn't like Cinderella sequels and didn't like toy story 3 it was sad and kinda creeped me out lol sorry toy story fans - lisaw  96.3 #3078 11:33PM
There's nothing wrong with that :) TS3 WAS sad. And it's no big deal, just means you got different tastes :) - Aquata  292.2 #659 11:37PM
It creeped me out too! The part where they almost melt was too weird. - BlackCanary86  40.9 #3975 1:02AM
The Lion King 2 was pretty good for a sequel. I did kinda like Pocahontas 2 tho. and also Mulan 2 was ok i think. - misseeyore  500.1 #240 11:36PM
Mulan 2 was forgettable..but I don't think I absolutely hated it - MayBie  1864.2 #40 11:41PM
The Toy Story sequels definitely take the cake but a few I'm not so fond of are Cars 2 and the POTC sequels. - kristimcgookin  5.3 #9965 11:48PM
Toy story for sure !!!! - MrsMinnieCarrillo  3.8 #14687 11:54PM
Toy story all the way! And lion king 2. The little mermaid sequel was ok. Didn't love it didn't hate it. - akeleh  293.5 #653 11:58PM
There was a Hunchback 2?? - AnaJelly  236.8 #1147 12:57AM
I like Return of Jafar and Aladdin and the King of Thieves. They both are not as good as the first movie but some of their songs and moments shine. - BlackCanary86  40.9 #3975 1:07AM
