Good morning ! ☺☀
Hope everyone had a restful sleep!
I was hoping someone could verify something for me...
Last night there was a couple of topics about Scrapper pins. I have been buying pins from DL for years but also a fair share off eBay. I'd say for 6 years...but I am a casual pin collector, not hardcore. I am lucky in that, after educating myself and going through my pins, I have only found one that I believe to be a scrapper pin. I was wondering if anyone could confirm...? It's my Rosetta pin. She has a dot in the middle of her forehead, a rough spot on her wing tip and some pink coloring that's dotted on part of the leaf. Thanks in advance!
Baloo & Strawberryguy are hosting a pin trading seminar this Sat @ the hojo if your interested in attending = ) - donnievegas

I did read that and I want to go so badly but alas I believe I am blocked out and I'll be in SD celebrating my b-day this weekend ... Mega bummer 😞 - Aquata 292.2 #659 8:51AM
Doh! *facepalm* Just saw that it was at the Hojo...not DL...

These are two of the main things that Disney inspectors will reject pins for at the factories in China: What is known in the molding world as "flash" or extra bits of metal hanging off of after it comes out of the mold, and mold defects that produce metal in the wrong spots. Some other things that come up are wrong colors for enamel fills, or the wrong sheen on the enamel. If you enjoy the pin, then that all that matters! If you're wondering why they are called scrappers, it is because pins that are rejected during Disney inspection at the factory are "supposed" to be scrapped, that is thrown away. Of course we know that the factories in China that produce these all sell the scrap on the gray market. - Shroppy

I'm about 98% sure but I hadn't been aware of the "fake" pins until last night...I bought this off EBay because I didn't want to shell out $30.00 for the set at DL when all I wanted was Rosetta (she's my favorite fairy) 😔 - Aquata

Yeah, thank you for the second opinion 😊
I kind of figured as much but I'll keep it anyway. It's close enough to the original and it was a pin that I had no intention of
ever trading anyway. Anyway, it's good to know regardless 😓 - Aquata 292.2 #659 11:38AM
Whoever goes to the pin seminar, can you please record info? - MrStitch
