Help wanted from DL experts! I have changed my reservation from Monday 4/30-Saturday 5/4 so that we won't completely miss fireworks during our trip (we were going to be there mon-fri and miss them altogether). Now I see that World of Color is only going to show on Monday night at 8:30... I need some opinions from you guys! From what I've read we have to hurry to get FastPasses early in the morning for WOC, and since we won't be arriving until like 2-3pm that day I think they would likely be sold out by then (yes?). Ariel's Grotto is listed as being closed during our trip so I don't think that'd be an option for viewing the show.... anyone know if there is any way to request tickets or another way to view it ahead of time? I SO want to see it!! Any tips or advice is greatly appreciated!
I believe WOC will be showing all week. I am trying to confirm that but that is what the Disney CM site says. - BalooTBear

Oh really? That would be so awesome! According to the entertainment schedule on DL website it is only showing on Monday, and the rest of the week is pretty empty of entertainment showings except Alladin on Tuesday and the Soundsational Parade. Ariel's Grotto is closed for refurb. According to Disney.go.com in their schedule, the 30th is your only chance fro FW's & WOC. That may be subject to change. Where are you staying? - splashphotoCM

Stay at gch and u will get early admission into the parks and thus bd one of the first to get a fastpass - hurleystars

Do not despair! I think the only reason there isn't a
WOC listed in May is simply because the online DLR calendar hasn't been updated
that far out yet. If you click on the Month view for May, you'll see only
the 1st and 2nd have anything listed, but on May 2, there's NOTHING going on in
DCA. That would never happen. WOC typically runs at least once nightly,
so just wait for the calendar to be updated to find out how many times it’ll be
showing that week.

The couple of tImes ee've stated at Disney hotels, we've received fast passes to woc! Call the hotel to see if they'll do that! You can also do the wine country trattoria picnics or have dinner at the trattoria (upstairs - dinner was delicious!) but you need to make dinner reservations in advance! To be honest, I've never needed fast passes to watch woc but then again I didn't feel like I needed to be close or up front- have a great time! - NurseJennJillO

There are also picnic dinners that you can buy ahead of time online and that gives you a "fast pass" to WOC. (and a yummy dinner) I ordered ours on Disneyland.com - brittandkell

The picnic food is pretty decent. But it is a picnic, not a full on meal so be prepared. Just be sure to pre-order them. Get the meal though because you'll have better seating I believe. - DiscoSteve 252.3 #985 7:04PM
From what I was told by a CM long ago, they usually close the FP machine an hour before the scheduled showing of WoC unless its a busy day. From my experience, Im always able to get a FP ticket at 6 or 7pm for the WoC at 9:15pm. Done this almost every time, so I think you will still be able to get your FP as 2 or 3pm! - MagicalLand

Ariels Grotto & fast passes are not the only way to view WOC. You can also do a picnic. There's info on the Disneyland web page about it. - MickeyMousefanatic

Buy Picnic dinners, each comes with a ticket. We did that the first time we saw it. - saralovesdisney
