Dearest mouswaiters, I would like to give you an update on princess daisy Rachel Young. Since the second surgery she has been heavily monitored and is now in the icu. The have removed her chest tube and she claims that she is in a lot less pain. However there is little to no improvement on her motor and sensory skills in her legs, and we are fearing the worst. There is a VERY long road ahead, one she cannot travel alone. We need all your prayers and thoughts and the power of God our father and Jesus our lord and savior to make her walk again. Thank you all so much from the bottom of our hearts for everything you have done and are doing for us. I cannot even begin to epress that gratitude and admiration I have for all you wonderful and beautiful people. This is so hard!!! I need her with me!!! I need to have her whole again, perfect again! I wish I could just trade places with her and take on all her pain and suffering! She is my sunshine, she is everything in my life that is good! There is so many more things she has left to do and see! And she still needs to meet all of you! Please pray for her pray for her nerves to heal, pray for her bones to mend, pray for her to be able to walk, able to run, able to stay all day in the sun! Wandering free, pray for her to once again be, part of our world!!!
I never had the opportunity to meet her, but she sounds like a beautiful, strong person and I have faith that as long as she is determined, she will be able to overcome these obstacles placed before her. Keep her in high spirits and keep her motivated. People have come back from worse and I have no doubt with her will power she will be able to accomplish more than she thinks. My prayers and thoughts go out to you and your family during this incredibly rough time. Do everything in your heart to make her smile. Stay strong and keep the faith. The human body is capable of amazing things and it sounds like she has age and good health on her side! There's every reason to believe that she'll be good as new - her body just needs time to heal. I do know what you're going through though, and I too have been learning to deal with one of those "life changing" moments (my Mom's fall and subsequent brain injury last year). The worse part is trying to come to terms with the way things are, while wanting things to be the way they were before. You must hang in there and believe that it will all be okay. Will keep praying for you & rachel. People have been able to fully recover from their injuries & disabilities despite what the doctors told them. Make sure to keep a positive attitude & keep her from worrying. You need to keep her spirits up if you want her to recover. Do NOT let her give up or get depressed. Theres a poem called Don't Quit. Success is a failure turned inside out-the silver tint of the clouds of doubt, and when you never can tell how close you are, it may be near when it seems afar, so stick to the fight when your hardest hit-its when things seem worst, you must not quit.

Healing takes time. Take it slow One day ay a time. It can be frustrating and discouraging. But it sounds like the whole family has courage. Just be there in the minute with the good and the bad. Three years ago we went through a similar situation with my niece who was 20 at the time. She suffered from an AVM in her brain. Basically it's a cluster of improperly formed arteries and veins that, from the time she was conceived, clotted and bled until one day they ruptured. She was bleeding in her brain and according to all her doctors and nurses, she should have died three times during the 7+ hours of surgery she underwent. We KNOW it was by the grace of God and all the people we had praying for her that is why she pulled through. She was in a coma for 2 weeks and then was in hospital for another 5.5 months. She had to learn how to walk, talk, and even eat all over again. She was a champion figure skater (3rd in our province) and even though she probably won't ever skate again, she is grateful to have recovered at all... I hope our story gives you some hope for your future with Rachel :). Hang in there!! - AbbyDLfriend

I pray for PD all the time. Years ago I was in a hospital sitting next to someone who I love dearly, the dr said she had hours left. By a miracle from God she defyed logic and came back to us. It was a tough road but she survived with no major issues. I pray for a miracle for PD. - PrincessDuckie
