Sweetie...this picture is fantastic and you obviously have talent but PLEASE don't Mouse Wait while in class. This is the third post in three days that a high school student has posted of a drawing while in class. I would love to see more of your pictures you draw...but not until the final school bell rings. - ohhhtoodles

Well said! Work and school now, play later. Disneyland isn't going any where! It will be waiting for you. - nickb92 69.6 #3408 9:36AM
High school...college...it really does not matter. The point is she has a lot of talent and I am sure that she is a very smart girl. But overall The most important thing is to utilize an eduction wisely. Education>Mouse Waiting while in school - ohhhtoodles 365.2 #381 9:54AM
I'm in college. I don't count - BCC 4640.6 #5 9:58AM

Do any kids pay attention in class anymore? - MagicalCaprice
480.6 #248 8:54AM
I don't think so, and I didn't think phones are allowed in class. I guess kids can just do what they want in school. - Minnis2Society 360.0 #389 8:55AM
Kinda scary right? They are our future. :( - LizO™ 470.0 #258 8:57AM
I know what you mean... I had a student tell his mom in front of me the reason his work was not completed is he was not called in for homework club and we had him doing a different activity earlier... I was already dealing with other students to intervene to say the truth because this particular parent has to be handled deferently due to their little angel whom can do no wrong... It's sad a lot of them choose to ignore their work - Singh2011 178.8 #1879 9:23AM
This explains so much.... It's not our school systems that suck its that the kids don't pay attetion cause they have so many distractions now. - NeverlandTink 421.4 #304 9:37AM
Nope. But as long as they're getting the work done, the student usually still gets most of the information they need. I have a terrible time paying attention. I think I may have ADD, but I haven't been diagnosed or anything, so I don't know for sure. I never really paid attention to my teachers, but I did my work in class and was usually ahead of the class because I taught myself. Then again, maybe I was hearing the lecture on a subconcious level. - DelilahJo3 178.6 #1881 10:04AM
Doesnt Mw in school like a boss >.> - MrStitch 125.9 #2632 10:12AM
I can't tell you how much I doodled in high school, and I was valedictorian of my class. And guess what? When I first visited the art college I attend, they said one of the best things you could do is doodle in class! So, it's not always a "horrible, atrocious" thing. And who knows? Maybe she took the picture after class? She never said. Don't assume until you know the details! - JediDug

Honestly, if a person is a kinesthetic learner, sometimes doodling will help him/her process the lecture information better--I doodled all the time in my notebooks and had great grades; I just needed to keep my body moving to keep my brain active. However, that doesn't mean that you should be on MW while in class OR posting your random doodles, though, lol! - Spoonful_O_Sugar

Maybe that's what i am, my case plans always turn out better when I take MW breaks in between putting them together, and I think I get more work done! If I sit still for too long without something interesting I lose focus and you can see a difference in what I'm writing. - madsdad 1124.6 #73 10:12AM
Yes, you are absolutely right SOS! I am also a kinesthetic learner as well and while I was in my teaching program in college the instructors allowed us to doodle. I am also a very visual learner and it helped me to visually see what I was learning. The only issue that I have with this is being on the phone Mouse Waiting and not paying attention in class. I believe that we should all respect ourselves and our teachers enough by keeping the phone in the backpack or purse until school is completed. :) - ohhhtoodles 365.2 #381 10:22AM
I totally agree with Spoonful_O_Sugar. My 10 year old son is a kinesthetic learner and is always doodling around with something in his pocket. I've been to classes myself where the teacher provided a basket full of thing to doodle with. But I agree you should not be on MW during class, post after class. Your drawing is great! Have fun tomorrow. - MamaNala 3.9 #13872 10:23AM
^^^Yes, agree 100%. People learn and retain information in different ways. - Alicewhoareyou 536.0 #209 5:06PM
This was more of a response to EVERYONE that is going overboard on this comment! I don't care if she is high school or college, I'm just glad she is being creative and enjoying it. Have a great time at the parks tomorrow abcmickey! - JediDug

It's ok. I get it. At least we are on the same page. People like to blame everyone else for problems that aren't that big of a deal! - JediDug 285.0 #701 9:53AM
Wow, who would have thought a doodle would have caused such debate :P - elmickeyman

Oh no...this got brought back to the lounge again. It was from a few days ago. Just for the record I am sorry for posting my response to this. She would so beat me on Draw Something!!! :) I can only make stick people!! - ohhhtoodles

I'd rather do something I can make a living out of and money off than math. That's why I draw in that class. I say DOODLE AWAY. - SoloSiyoNqoba

hi, this is a different take on doodles, but i doodle to keep my mind focused and i picked that up from mom who had a lot to deal with so she drew cartoons, all kinds of stuff. she went to Heaven, i miss her terribly but i find her doodles and cartoons everywhere and they are such a blessing to me. so keep doodling, in years to come maybe someone will put them in an art gallery and if not, your family will love them always!! - secretagentangel
