Hi MWers. We r going to DLR in April and it will be my daughter's 1st visit. She'll be 4 yrs old & I'm wondering what might be a good first ride?? Nothing with a tunnel and not fast. We'll try those kinds for sure but she gets nervous when she sees a tunnel. I don't want to freak her out on her first ride. Thanks!!

Tea cups! Fun, easy, no tunnel, just laughing and getting dizzy. - ThatKimberly  335.2 #451 5:35PM
Yes, Tea Cups are fun just dont spin it too fast. - MamaNala  3.9 #13878 6:14PM
The carousel! - Mimmy  1405.6 #57 5:04PM
That's a great choice! - dawna  286.9 #686 5:07PM
This is one of my sons first favorite rides! - MamaNala  3.9 #13878 6:11PM
Peter Pan or Dumbo. Great memories for the young ones. - sewedna  84.6 #3213 10:22PM
I think Dumbo is a perfect first ride! Not only is it a good choice first thing in the morning to avoid the line that forms later but it is also a Disneyland original. She'd especially love it if you introduce her to the movie first, if she hasn't seen it already! - cynDOLEwhip  744.1 #137 5:02PM
Dumbo! Yes! I was going through all the attractions in my head trying to think of something. 😃 - DisneyFanZoe  1096.7 #75 5:04PM
Well..peter pan was Alyssa's first ride at 2the years old...it should be ok...or maybe alice.. - dawna  286.9 #686 5:03PM
Dumbo :) Classic Disney Attraction :) or if she's scared of the height go for Small World. It has tunnles, but they are not dark at all. - Nicole  380.2 #356 5:05PM
Yes-King Arthur's Carousel!   - cinderelli  325.7 #495 5:06PM
Dumbo is good, but first roller coaster do gadgets go coaster in toon town. My daughter is 4 and it was her first, we had to ease her into it but she like it! - akpoppins  243.3 #1070 5:10PM
Peter pan! - wonderlandgirl  325.6 #498 5:10PM
Any of the rides at bugs land in dca all out doors and super fun for kid. - maxinerenton  415.1 #311 5:12PM
Thanks everyone!! I'm leaning towards Dumbo since I've heard the line gets really long later in the day. She'll do tunnel rides but she stresses out at first. I dont want the first ride to be stressful at all. Lol :) hope to meet some of you when we go. - MariaR  170.1 #2004 5:32PM
The train is also fun. Although it may have a few tunnels, you get to see the whole park - BaseballMickey_CM  2851.3 #15 5:34PM
quite a few tunnels actually, and one has dinosaurs in it! (there are 3 tunnels.. a tunnel from main street to New Orleans square, another between New Orleans and Toontown going through splash mountain, and the last one which is the longest one with the dinos in it from tomorrowland back to main street) but the train is definitely worth it! - DonaldMissingPants  296.2 #632 5:58PM
Omg!!!she is obsessed with Dino's!!! - MariaR  170.1 #2004 6:00PM
NOT Snow White!! Made that mistake (was enticed by the no wait) *slaps head* . - DisneyDawn  415.5 #310 6:04PM
that ride is actually pretty scary - DonaldMissingPants  296.2 #632 6:06PM
Worst mom in the world moment :( - DisneyDawn  415.5 #310 6:07PM
lol! - DonaldMissingPants  296.2 #632 6:14PM
Carousel, train, Pooh, Storybook Canal Boats, Dumbo, Toontown, Peter Pan, Bugs Life attractions, King Tridents Carousel, Mark Twain and or the Columbia, Jungle Cruise, Potc. The Animation Academy, Crush,Jumpin Jellyfish, Muppet Vision, Redwood Creek, Soaring. These are all the Attractions my 4 year old grandson goes on plus a few others. But they are DLR born and raised.  - splashphotoCM  880.9 #101 6:06PM
I would suggest Storybook Land.  The only part that is remotely like a tunnel is when you go through Monstro, but the CM's make this easy and not scary at all. - MyPark  944.1 #91 6:07PM
Dumbo or the carousel. Kids always love autopia! :-) - Krissy Marissy  411.0 #316 6:08PM
Dumbo, Peter Pan, King Arthurs carousel might be good first ride ever options. Make sure to post a picture!! - MsDisneyLove  168.2 #2028 6:09PM
toy story midway mania, animation academy, mark twain riverboat, autopia, roger rabbit's car toon spin (get a fp, it doesnt affect all your other fp's) winnie the pooh, the little mermaid, golden zephr (if she's not too scared) and Monster's Inc - DonaldMissingPants  296.2 #632 6:10PM
Tower of Terror.....jk!! Poo is probably the mildest ride in the park but all my kids love Peter Pan.. Have fun and let us know which ride you end up going on first.. - dizluvr  327.8 #487 6:10PM
I think there needs to be an "H" on the end! LOL! - PixarDreamer  245.8 #1045 6:25PM
Take the Omnibus down Main Street and wall through the castle to Fantasyland. Then you can take your pick of attractions. - grumpypapa  543.1 #207 6:12PM
My daughters first trip was when she was a year. Her first ride was the train. It was great b/c she was able to take everything in. Now it's a tradition to ride the train first and it's the last ride we do too! Have fun!!!!! - Tinkertoes83  7.9 #7634 12:41AM
