Disneyland Opening Day. Of course it was in 1955, and some of us might be too young to have attended that date. I think that it's a special moment in history and I love to hear the old tales (for my 20's age). My Boss, 83 yrs old, was one of the lucky few to have attended the opening and she said that it was amazing. I can only imagine what it was like, and no video can replace the feeling of being there, I wish I had the honor to attend. Anyways, my curiosity led me to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JuzrZET-3Ew&feature=youtube_gdata_player it's a YouTube video of the LIVE broadcast on Opening day of Disneyland. It's long but great! Enjoy this as you fall asleep, and wake in a dream of imagination back in 1955.
Thanks. I'll watch it as soon as I get home - Bambi.

My little sister did a report/presentation on important days in history and picked the opening day of Disneyland. We watched all the videos of opening day and it was fantastic. Wish I could have been there. - Poisen_Ivy

That was a great number. I loved it very much. Davy crockett was very big for the kids back then. Kinda cool to see that time change bc today's popularity with kids are mostly animation characters. - gigibunny2 242.7 #1099 8:56AM
Thank you for posting . Loved this . It would be cool to see a side by side showing how it looks today - My_HappyPlace

I recommend watching it on tv if you have a blue-ray player connected to the Internet. People were watching at home in 1955. Crazy! 😜 - gigibunny2 242.7 #1099 9:21AM
I wish you could purchase this. I love it so much. - shellbelle

I talked to a lady in Michael's the other day who was there on opening day. I was trying to find Peter Pan stickers and she started telling me all about it. She got as excited as she probably was that first day. :) - PeachKay
