Came across these 2 pictures on yesterland. The top is the the construction of the first California Adventure and the bottom is a of the People Mover and whaat we know today as Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. I didnt even recognise the bottom picture at first. Disneyland has changed so much, but would love to travel back in time to opening day and seeing how much the park has changed! :)
Enjoy the pictures! ❤
It is truly a shame to what the plans for the new Tomorowland was going to be and what it turned out to be. I remember being in two meetings for our dept where they had showed us years before what the new land would be and then the new land was going to be...it was shocking how bad it was at the time and everyone knew it was going to fail and be a bad idea...we had the same meetings about DCA about the orginal concepts and the final products...They should have just left tomorrowland alone and not skimped on the Eisner and Paul Preseeler Budgets - Dave

Astro Blasters was Circle Vision, Star Tours was Adventure Thru Inner Space, Pizza Port was Mission To Mars, and Innoventions was America Sings. My family always rode the Peoplemover, Infact it was my grandmothers favorite ride. - ScooterMike

Ah the peoplemover. I also liked the rockets at their original location. Ain't nothing like fearing for your life from the huge fall while going round and round. - icedevil31

I guess my parents didn't take me on that one very much because I don't really remember it. I do remember they always wanted to see Circle Vision. And I definitely remember the Peoplemover. - LaneSparrow316 846.9 #108 10:46PM
Wait was Adventure Through Inner Space AT Circle Vision? OMG I feel old. - LaneSparrow316 846.9 #108 10:46PM
No, it was where Star Tours is today. Circle Vision is now Astro Blasters. Mission to Mars was kind of silly though. :p - Alicewhoareyou 536.0 #209 10:53PM
Mission To Mars was totally kitch. Loved the animatronics in the Pre ride mission control show. Reminded me of Thunderbirds Are Go! - ScooterMike 1959.8 #35 11:30PM
