Question! I'm thinking of going to buy my first SLR camera to take pictures around Disneyland. What is a good type of camera for beginners? I was looking at Nikon D3100 or canon rebel..

I got the Cannon Rebel DSLR T3I for Christmas and I LOVE it!!  You can't go wrong with a Cannon!! - caramiapoohAKAface  1449.2 #54 3:47PM

I just bought a Fuji SLR fromCostco for less than 300 and it came with a case and an SD card...great deal and it takes great photos - HobbleGobble  3.8 #14758 3:46PM
I have a Canon T2i. Good and reliable camera - BaseballMickey_CM  2859.0 #16 3:52PM
Oh, and I got mine at Costco in a package deal - BaseballMickey_CM  2859.0 #16 4:04PM
Another vote for Canon. I bought a Rebel XSi two years ago and it works great. - robin_sparkles  293.8 #647 3:54PM
Cannon! I love my rebel. - SassyKittyMeow  358.1 #395 3:55PM
I also love my cannon - Pixarprincess  531.4 #215 3:57PM
Olympus E520. Pictures don't come out soft like a lot of the other brands out there, and the colors are killer. I love my Olympus, they are so underestimated. :) - flukefan  266.4 #861 3:57PM
A rebel will suit your needs if you are a hobbiest. You can always invest in nicer lenses at a later date. If you want a little more of an upgrade a canon 60d is nice and you can pick one up at costco. - DlandDude  262.1 #895 4:00PM
Conform... go Canon (^_-) - onezerohero  147.2 #2327 4:03PM
another vote for canon rebel or 60d. they're awesome cameras with tons of lenses and accessories that fit most of the cameras that they have. - secretagentangel  669.9 #154 4:07PM
I did hear that Olympus is a great camera...they sold out real quick at costco.com - HobbleGobble  3.8 #14758 4:13PM
The E520 or E620 with the kit lenses is an excellent starter kit. However, after you feel comfortable enough with that and you upgrade to higher quality weathersealed lenses, you can upgrade to a pro body, which is also weather sealed. Helpful for World of Color and Fantasmic, that's for sure. I love my kit lenses so much though, they are great for being just "the basics". I wont be selling mine even though I've recently upgraded. :) - flukefan  266.4 #861 4:37PM
I have the Canom XSI and I love that thing! You can't go wrong with Canon. Good luck! - no1goof  239.2 #1122 4:28PM
Team canon all the way!!!! - AvidDisneyThrifter220  851.4 #107 4:36PM
I have always been a Canon man. Nikon's are great cameras but I believe the Canon will be more friendly and easier to use. All my SLR Canons are 35mm film and I have the pix made on a disk and download to my computer. If you follow Shadowgamer and his pix, he uses the Canon T2i which is the one I will be picking up next month at Costco. It has a package with extra lenses and bag. - splashphotoCM  880.9 #101 4:51PM
My daughter is really into photography and she loves her Nikon D3100. Her photos are beautiful! - Bo22  331.1 #469 6:02PM
I highly recommend the Canon. I've had both DSLR.s and film. Quality is top notch and the cost is a bit better than Nikon. Good luck with which ever one you choose. - VeloMouseGirl  549.7 #202 6:14PM
I'm a professional photog. Buy the Nikon! - ckphoto  223.5 #1311 6:17PM
I have a cannon rebel t1i and I love it. I think any of the rebel models are a good buy. - PiecesOf8  373.1 #368 6:21PM
I've had Canons for 18 years...I'll never switch! Love them and live them even more taking pictures at the park!!! Magical! - DisneyChucks  8.3 #7431 6:29PM
