I have a question for all of you out of towners! I'll be making a trip to DL on the 19th (2 night stay) and I will have to book a hotel. I want to stay somewhere cheap... But I don't want to end up with bed bugs!!! Where do you stay and what would you suggest?
I hope the responses help out other MWers like me! Thanks!
Try the Howard Johnson, it's t the official hotel of MouseWait! Plus if you mention you are a Mouse Waiter you'll get a discount!!! - WaltSentMe

I would like to try to keep it under $100 a night... Not sure if HoJo can do that or not. I'm sure it's a lovely place! - SassyKittyMeow 358.1 #396 12:52PM
Call hojo directly and and ask about MW and AP discount, also ask about retro rate if available. - donnievegas 1127.5 #73 1:00PM
When available, the retro rate is as low as $59/night! - bluefairy 627.4 #174 1:13PM
I always stay at La Quinta. Use the corporate code LOVES for a discount. Also try priceline's "name your own price" option. - Armenda

I highly suggest Pricelines name your own price. - mochamistie 272.8 #805 3:16PM
Priceline is the way to go!!! When it's really busy and hard to get a good priceline deal we have stayed at Extended stay America two exits from Disneyland!!! - Rob512 755.1 #134 11:50PM

We stayed there in December - GREAT value. Big rooms and very clean. - TonjaC 278.1 #748 3:17PM
We like to save money for the mouse! We usually stay at the Super 8 on Katella for under 50 bucks a night. It's the cleanest one we've found for that price, is about a 10 minute walk to the gate and they have a decent continental breakfast! - cynDOLEwhip

There is a Holiday Inn on Walnut (I think that was the street name....) , behind the Mickey and Friends structure, and I got it for well under $100 a night on Hotwire. It was pretty nice too. I always use those types of websites to find cheap rooms and haven't been disappointed yet. I do not recommend Days Inn on Harbor, just past Ball Rd. The shower was not hot at all. - Jillian

I absolutely love HoJo, but also understand having a budget... I recommend Hotel Menage Anaheim Boutique. According to Hotels.com it's available for $99 right now. It's walking distance, and very nice staff. Whatever you do, avoid Ramada!! - KylaShea

Everyone will tell you Hojo, lol. I've never stayed there, but MWers love it. And yes, I believe you can stay for under $100 per night. You'll need to call in-house reservations and ask for the MW discount. Alternatively, my husband and I use Priceline's name-your-own-price option, and for under $75/night including parking, we have stayed at the Convention Center Hilton, both Holiday Inns, Marriott Suites (on Harbor), and Staybridge Suites--all of them were clean (obviously some had better amenities and were closer to DL than others). - Spoonful_O_Sugar

I use priceline and name my own price. I only pick 3 or 4 star hotels. Very nice places within a mile of the park. All of them offer shuttle service, sometimes free cookies or breakfast. I have never paid more than 55 a night. I have done this about 7 times in the past year, and I am always very happy! - ladylikesdisneysmom

Don't you end up paying a lot for parking at the more expensive hotels and the cost is not figured into the priceline bid? - Polkadobo 372.1 #372 3:18PM
Parking just depends on the hotel, and I've never been charged more than $10/night. It's still a good deal if you get a bid of, say $40/night. We recently got the Marriott Suites for 45/night with no extra fees. - Spoonful_O_Sugar 436.3 #285 3:23PM
I went onto Priceline to try this... It wanted all my info upfront. Is this normal? - SassyKittyMeow 358.1 #396 3:25PM
Yep! They don't tell you what you get ahead of time. It made me nervous at first, too, but we've never had a bad experience. - Spoonful_O_Sugar 436.3 #285 3:46PM
We just stayed at the radisson suites in buena park for $50 a night with priceline. free parking, free breakfast and every room was a suite with a sleep number bed. it was perfect! - mochamistie 272.8 #805 10:43PM

I love priceline. I paid 70 dollars per night for Sheraton hotel last year. For my upcoming trip, I paid 50dollars for embassy suites north. Not an ideal walking distance hotel but it comes with free parking and free breakfast. Amazeballs! - karshla
