Sooo.....Disney has covered many diversities with their princesses but....I think they need to create a plus size princess. I think a lot of girls (myself included) could relate to her. What do you guys think?
I have to disagree. As a little girl, I had a pretty serious medical condition. Ive read a lot of posts where people wish that Disney would make a bald, blind, or deaf princess. But for me, I don't think any of these would have helped me cope. Instead, at seven years old, I wanted to close my eyes and pretend to be a perfect princess like belle, jasmine, or aurora. I realize that this is a little bit different, but I hold my stance. - LittleAprilShowers

I tend to agree with you :) - Spoonful_O_Sugar 435.8 #283 7:23PM
I, being a plus size, can agree with that. I highly doubt that will ever happen though. - disneydoll99

I understand the idea of wanting to be accepted and viewed as beautiful no matter what ones size is. I am considered a plus size gal and I've struggled it with most of my life. I've never thought twice about the princesses' looks or size. It never came across my mind that they should be made different sizes. I always thought that Disney focused on the princesses' inner beauty and strength. I wish that's how the world would view men, women and children no matter what. - Fanatic4Disney

I'm a plus sized guy, haven't always been like this. But when I go to see a Disney film I don't want to see a big fat guy as a prince or hero. I want a good looking fit and trim dude. And let's face it, that's why they made Shrek and Kung Fu Panda. - splashphotoCM

Seriously laughing out loud right now! - Deltachiq 969.0 #90 7:37PM
Yeah--can you imagine a hefty Prince Philip or Aladin? - Spoonful_O_Sugar 435.8 #283 7:39PM
I agree! Don't hate me, but I'm stick thin, not by my own choice, and I hate that al my friends want to be super skinny because of me. I keep telling them they are beautiful no matter what size they are and it's true! I honestly don't think Disney will make a plus size princess, I agree with uncool_me, I think people will say it promotes obesity :( but, I think they should have an average sized princess! The average size is like a size 14 or whatever, and I would love to see that. Not these girls that have waists the size of my forearm. - jamielynn

I say we are all beautiful as god created us to be ")) - Belle88 23.5 #4770 11:32PM
I wouldn't mind seeing a princess with a bit of curve to her frame, but nothing that looks seriously unhealthy. I know it sounds cold, but I want to look at a fantasy world when I watch a Disney movie. That's the point :) - tuesday737

Of course not. I support a full and broad discussion :-) - MelodyMouse 941.5 #92 7:24PM

Oh, MM, I'm not sure if you're doing it on purpose but you're cracking me up... - cynDOLEwhip 744.1 #137 7:26PM
On purpose, but I mean no disrespect to any plus princesses in the group - MelodyMouse 941.5 #92 7:29PM
The problem is that Warner Bros has rights on the names Porky and Petunia. Yes - I qualify to poke fun at fatties cuz im definitely in the porky category. - Nickelnorm

I'm average sized, but I wouldn't want my future child thinking that it's ok to be overweight. Curves- yes. Obese- no. I like princesses the way they are, and they do a fine job embracing who they are. - TashaJones94

I disagree as well. As an overweight woman, always have been, I wouldn't want obesity promoted in any form to children. It's unhealthy and not a fun life to live, speaking from personal experience. A less than perfect hourglass figure? Sure, but nothing more than that. I think the beautiful differences are shown in their personalities, characters and ethnicities. - Mickey82

Disagree Especially because even if you aren't plus size, blind, deaf, etc., we all still have flaws... And as little girls we all want to forget about our flaws and pretend we are pretty princesses!!! - PrincessLunn

Someone will probably complain that Disney is *promoting* obesity. =/ - UncoolBunny

But I would love to see a cute thick princess. - UncoolBunny 70.9 #3386 1:42AM
It's a nice thought, but I don't think it'll happen, for several of the reasons already named. It wouldn't be well-received. - Spoonful_O_Sugar

I hope it does happen...Disney got a lot of complaints about a mixed race prince and princess..but they still made it happen...so maybe they will cause we all need princesses we can relate to :) - stitchgrl434

I just think it would be a good subject for Disney cause every girl is a beautiful princess no matter the size, race, color etc. - beccabelle2002

I think that's a great idea, I too am a plus size women and would love to see a plus size princess, I'm not talking obese or anything but a real women with some curves.. - ashneric

It's a nice idea but ur will never happen and if it ever does it , the story would just revolve around her weight which wouldn't be the greatest - Jo_ohanna

I just told my husband this morning while watching Pinocchio that I love the Blue Fairy because she is normal sized. - Deltachiq

Hmm, I agree with you. There's so many girls nowadays that have eating disorders because they want to have the perfect body or look like their favorite princess. I know because I've felt like that, so I think having a plus size princess would really decrease the eating disorders and low self esteem. - AnaheimsMom
