I just moved into a new house today! Yeah! My question for you all is: how do you bring a hint of Disney flare/love to your home decor all year long without being too over the top?

My house is Peter pan inspired.. So one room has green accents with brown to represent the treehouse, my kitchen is painted robins egg blue and has mermaid art/tile for mermaid lagoon, dining room has a ships wheel chandelier and pirate accents for captain hooks ship, etc - justcallmeKP  85.4 #3210 7:54AM
Sounds amazing and perfectly subtle! - cynDOLEwhip  744.1 #137 11:55AM
Can I move in with you?!? - AvidDisneyThrifter220  850.9 #107 1:00PM
If you are wanting to be subtle, focus on color schemes, rather than Disney items/art. For instance, if you wanted an Up-inspired bedroom, paint the walls light blue, buy a light blue comforter, and use bright, multicolored pillows for pops of color! Maybe place a few figurines on the night stand. So fun! Happy decorating and congrats! - Spoonful_O_Sugar  436.2 #285 8:51AM
If you love it flaunt it. We have Disney memorabilia all over the the house. Posters, pictures, furniture you name it. Remember Disneyland is your land. - splashphotoCM  880.9 #101 9:06AM
Congratulations on your new home! We have items all over the house but no rooms actually completely decorated in a Disney theme. NOT that I don't WANT to! - melissa_ficent  317.9 #531 11:51AM
Congrats on your new home!! I try not to overdo it, but I have dish towel with Mickey Ears on it, and a Mickey Ears wine stopper, so it's not super in your face but is still Disney. I also got some really cool posters (haunted mansion portraits, monorail poster) that I've hung up that are really neat - LaurenNCait  303.6 #591 7:46AM
You can never be over the top with Disney decorations - acesmagic  113.2 #2850 8:14AM
Coffee table books featuring DL or films. Maybe a collage of photos taken from DL on a wall. The classic vintage attraction posters are nice too. Have a Hawaiian/tiki inspired/color-themed bathroom with matching pineapple soap dispenser and toothbrush holder. Have portraits of Jose and friends on the walls, along with a menu from Trader SAMs or the recipe for a dole whip. Have a figuirine of Belle and beast reading where you keep your books and a artificial rose under a glass case. Throw in some of those cute Mickey kitchen accessories. Buy vinyl letters that spell out subtle Disney quotes or images (like "Be our Guest" over your dining area). Get a vintage mirror for the bathroom a la Snow White and find all apple themed/colored accessories. Buy seven little toothbrushes and frame them in a shadow box type frame, writing the name of each dwarf on the handles. - Polkadobo  372.1 #371 8:33AM
I love this! We are getting the keys to our 1st home home in a few weeks. I already plan to do a Jungle Cruise theme for my kids bathroom. - UncoolBunny  70.9 #3392 12:01PM
Photos of you and your family sharing Disneyland.  Family photos are never over-the-top :) - MoonWillow  371.7 #373 8:55AM

I suggest a family photo taken in front of the castle 8x10 framed and hung in a prominent location. Very suttle. - grumpypapa  543.1 #207 7:46AM
Disneyland sells kitchen items and target sells bathroom toiletries. Try decorating a room with Disney. Good luck on your decorative journey and congrats on your new home! - elmickeyman  213.7 #1435 7:47AM
Thats very cool! - KelcieGrace  51.3 #3730 8:00AM
We are not over the top but we have a little disney in every room :) - LoveLove  345.9 #420 8:22AM
Just display your Mickey ears - maxinerenton  415.1 #311 8:26AM
I have a studio apartment (sitting in one corner, I can throw a rock to every other corner... maybe even a feather...) so decorating Disney was really easy. I have a cork board with all my pins, countless pictures, several of my homemade Disney canvas collages, another pretty board that has my professional (bought from Disney) pictures, and then all of my vinyls are on a bookshelf staring out at the room, haha. I love it!  - KylaShea  533.2 #214 8:28AM
Home depot has a selection of Disney paint. I just finished painting my first floor Mickey's Shadow. - Wizard  81.6 #3257 8:29AM
Congrats on your new home. - JazzSingingMermaid  338.6 #437 8:29AM
I started with a spare bedroom as my Disney collectable room. That has grown to a Pinocchio family room, apt over the garage and starting another spare room. There's nothing subtle about me!! - sewgirl  340.5 #431 8:37AM
We have Disney frames all over, our ears displayed in the office. We are remodeling our daughters room to disneyland themed. Blue and white (colors that's you find in NOS). Disney picture frames, framed DL map puzzle, focal point is a Maggie Parr painting of the Partners Statue. We are finishing it off with a fiber optic star ceiling like you find in the dream suite. - Fanatic4Disney  258.0 #925 8:44AM
One room has our wedding ears from our honeymoon to disneyworld. Then we have the customizable maps on the wall. In the living room we have photos and frames of our trips to disney. Also some kitchen Mickey items since it is red and black. Our bedroom has our pins stuck in the wall. Also have a framed painting of our last name with Disney characters :) all of the ideas are great! - mouselaw1076  36.0 #4135 8:49AM
I have one room that is pink...with princess 's and tink all over its for my granddaughter ....or so I say....teehee. - dawna  286.9 #686 8:57AM
Maybe the kitchen? They do have all that cool kitchen ware at disneyland, and you can get a really cute mickey apron :) - SerenaDufon  127.8 #2607 9:01AM
How about a nice statue that they sell at Disneyland or a painting  - Disneymomof3  7.2 #8036 9:06AM
I have a Mickey bowl that has candy and bags of chips in it. Plus Disney paintings scattered around 😊 - AshleyLynn22  747.6 #136 11:57AM
I'm turning my Dining Room into a Disney room. My collectibles are displayed, several Disney art pieces, my teacup/teapot collection (Alice themed). I have one wall where I have hung a very large vintage frame and inside the frame are 4x6 framed pics of our Disney visits through the years. - Gia  785.5 #121 12:01PM
Oh, I love that. - Fanatic4Disney  258.0 #925 1:06PM
I took a picture of the Castle, printed it, framed it, and put it on top of my armoire. - LaTruce  1643.8 #45 12:03PM
Some great ideas here! I think it's pretty hard to go over the top! We havn't found that point yet! - Stumickey  289.1 #673 12:27PM
I say go for it! Always having your favorite Disney items in view will make you happy. We have a Haunted Mansion themed family room (with the framed changing portrait of the girl / jaguar in the living room)... we have a sculpture of the mansion, the hitch hiking ghosts above our tv, framed ride poster and various watercolor portraits of the mansion. We also have the six-foot framed stretching portraits that take up a whole wall. It's the closest thing we can get to being on our favorite ride and it makes me happy every day 😃 - Nala  331.5 #466 12:54PM
We use the fireplace mantle for all of our fav disney momentos and then we have our fav pics of us at the parks hanging up over it. We also have two small corkboards in the same area with our fav pins. Its our fav place in the house lol. - madsdad  1124.8 #73 12:56PM
Great ideas everyone! Thank you!! - KelcieGrace  51.3 #3730 11:31PM
I beleive that Home Depot sells a Disney line of paint, if your looking for something that will make the colours pop! - proudcanuck  476.4 #250 11:38PM
i actually just redid my kids bathroom mickey mouse and my 3 yr old loves mickey so its a big bang of disney when you open his door lol  - disney_luv  131.6 #2562 1:56AM
I'm definately thinking some kitchen Disney things. I love those flatware I posted. I am also going to Paint my mailbox like they did in Up!! - KelcieGrace  51.3 #3730 6:34AM
Before we decided to lay wood through the house, we were contemplating having a mosaic put into our entry way. I loved the look of the sun from Rapunzel. It was subtle and a Disney touch that wasn't over the top. I had enough tile in my old house we decided to scrap the idea. The one "blatantly" Disney thing we have (downstairs) is our Thomas Kinkade Cinderella painting. Otherwise we keep all our Disney stuff upstairs - CaliCanuck  511.7 #229 6:56AM
I've got a few kitchen things but the living room is our Disney room...with pictures on the wall and a curio cabinet where my treasures are. - cdeley  392.8 #341 7:18AM
I have a curio cabinet full of my "treasures". Other than that we just give all of our pets Disney names. - MissyluvsDisneyland  357.6 #396 8:06AM
Misread and thought you had a churro cabinet. Now that would be cool - Villescas8(V8)  589.1 #185 8:10AM
I put little accents in my kitchen and bathroom... and there are pictures hanging in the bedroom and living room. I wish I could have an entire Disney house! Someday.... - MinnieGrl515  116.7 #2785 8:12AM
We have some artistic posters that are framed. We like angry Donald. - Princess Daisy  156.7 #2198 8:17AM
We painted the kitchen/family room in a light yellow & the half bath off the family room in a bright Mickey red. The hallway going into the bathroom is going to have Mickey comic news paper as well as 2 walls in the bathroom. I just bought the Mickey "butt" cookie jar, 2 coffee mugs trivet & 2 Minnie "butt" coffee mugs. We also have the Mickey chip service dish. Not over done. - Tweedle_Deedee  228.2 #1267 11:53PM
Target has kitchen items. - Song  875.7 #103 10:22AM
