City Hall has said there will be a waiting area for those who choose to wait from park closing on the 28th till the park opens on the 29th at 6am. I am prepared to camp over night! Park will open at 5:30, for a few thousand guests for the rope drop and then additional guests will be allowed to enter the park. We know that lots of people are planning to go, but it's almost impossible to know exactly how busy it'll be, since there aren't any past records to look at. My guess is that the crowds might depend on weather issues, also--even many of the diehards will get tired, grumpy, and cold if it's raining at 3 am. Plan on crazy crowds, and if there aren't any, you'll be pleasantly surprised. - Spoonful_O_Sugar
