What I did was I got the SoCal Select AP which was $199, on my next visit I got the bloked out pass for the day & at the same time paid an extra $11 to upgrade it to the SoCal Pass (the pass before Delux). I'm going to do the same thing on my next visit but upgrade to the Delux pass. Eventually, if it's worth it for me, I will upgrade to the unlimited pass. You can always pay the difference as long as you upgrade before your visit is expired. Since you paid $199 & upgrade before your visits expire Disney will honor it 😊 - gigibunny2  242.7 #1079 7:20PM

I did that with a 3 day park hopper pass that I got at Costco.  When I got my Premium pass, I got $150 (may have been a bit more, It was a few years ago) towards my AP.  We also got reimbursed for parking since parking is free with a premium pass. - VeloMouseGirl  549.7 #202 7:24PM
