Good Morning MW! We are planning a trip with the kids to SF & The Disney Family Museum is on the agenda, but in looking at reviews it may not be a good idea w two 3 &5 yr olds. For those who have been we'd appreciate advice. Thanks!
Def not a kid place. It's great and you'll want to spend a bunch of time there...and the kids will likely be done after 10-20 min. - iDreamAboutDumbo

while there are a few things that would be cool for little kids (a room with interactive songs/videos, disneyland model) it was mostly a walk, read facts, and look at artifacts type of museum. if it were more hands-on i would say take them, but it's up to you! - nicoleface

I haven't been to the Disney Family Museum but I highly recommend the Exploratorium in San Francisco!!! I loved that place as a kid! - ilovemickey8

The California Academy of Science is great too! If you go make sure and buy tickets ahead of time so you can skip the long line. - iDreamAboutDumbo 307.4 #586 11:42AM
I would not recommend it for children. It is a ton of reading and wonderful for adults but children would be terribly bored in most of the rooms. - underthesea822

It is a lot of history and reading, a great thing for teens and adults but i dont really know about younger kids...they usually rush through. it is an amazing place though. - in-disney-we-trust

Visit the ghirardelli factory in san fran... you get a free chocolate at the end of the tour and the kids get to see how chocolate is made - CheshireFreak
