I apologize in advance for this not being Disney related I was just hoping for some advice/help from my fellow MWers. I was recently diagnosed with gastritis and am having trouble finding foods I can eat. Does any else also suffer from this and have any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
We're you told what your triggers are? We're you put on any course of treatment? - Butterlina

I was told to avoid butter/fat. Had a relapse the other day after eating popcorn (before I was told about the butter). I am currently taking a PPI. At this point it just seems like trial and error. I am currently in a very rigorous Physician Assistant Program so I am fairly confident my main trigger is stress but unfortunately there isn't much I can do about that. Considering acupuncture. - ilovemickey8 321.6 #516 8:56PM
Just typing PPI impresses me. So I guess that I am now out of your diet. Dang. Hahaha. Kidding. But it's not GERD or h pylori. Goodness. - Butterlina 1307.8 #62 9:04PM
Haha. Sorry. When you are surrounded by medical talk all day sometimes its hard to get out of it. Ya I was tested for h pylori and the was negative. Guess its going to be trial and error. :) - ilovemickey8 321.6 #516 9:24PM
Haha. Yup no butter for me! It's very sad! :( - ilovemickey8 321.6 #516 9:26PM
Have you done any rounds yet with GI? you may have to avoid fatty dairy.....which would mean cheeses. And that makes me a sad panda. But don't tell Chris. - Butterlina 1307.8 #62 9:30PM
Yup I have seen the GI a couple of times. I was already scoped because they were concerned I had an ulcer which thankfully I don't. Only dairy I have been having is a small amount of low fat milk every day and I seem to be ok with that. I loooove cheese so I am a very sad panda. Actually I just love food. - ilovemickey8 321.6 #516 9:37PM
My dog had it a while ago. Eggs. Try eggs. - MagicalCaprice

I have been eating a lot of eggs I am just hoping to branch out a bit especially when I go to Disneyland. - ilovemickey8 321.6 #516 8:57PM
Disney has really good eggs. - MagicalCaprice 480.6 #248 8:57PM
Haha this is very true. Sad that my favorite breakfast spot Carnation Cafe is currently closed. It's just so hard to say no to the bacon or sausage that comes along with the eggs. - ilovemickey8 321.6 #516 9:00PM
I'm sorry. I wish I could help you. - MagicalCaprice 480.6 #248 9:05PM
Thanks for the suggestions. No need to apologize there are much worse things to be dealing with just a little frustrating. - ilovemickey8 321.6 #516 9:25PM
I hope you find you can eat many delicious things. - MagicalCaprice 480.6 #248 9:28PM
What I would do to eat and huge cheeseburger. :) - ilovemickey8 321.6 #516 9:39PM
Sty away from citrus/acids, spicy, and caffeine. My cousin recently had gastritis and my mother has GERD. She's been eating a lot of greens and starches, prepared by being boiled, steamed, or baked. - EpicDio

I have had acid problems for a while so I pretty much do that. Starches seem to be ok? Such as potatoes? - ilovemickey8
