Agreed, I just kept coming across posts that listed pirates or soarin' and was getting bummed that a lot of ladies might walk right past attractions that they could have enjoyed. And for those that live far away and like to plan their time a little more, this can be extremely helpful. - cynDOLEwhip 744.1 #137 1:00PM
Common Sense? What's that? - Mrsblue 692.4 #146 1:09PM
Common sense, isn't very common. - DisneyFanZoe 1099.1 #75 1:10PM
Some women let their worry get in the way of their common sense, you'd be surprised a some of the ridiculous questions I get from clients. They say there's no such thing as a stupid question but I wonder sometimes... - cynDOLEwhip 744.1 #137 1:12PM
My common sense is going to be, ride the ride how I see fit. Which yes, would take a lot of these out of the picture. But it would also have to do with how far along I am at that point. Women who frequent the park and know how the rides behave with bumps and drops should have a good sense of how they will fair. For example, IF I am two months pregnant I would probably feel comfortable on Splash Mountain but not Big Thunder. - DuffysJuju 627.4 #173 3:19PM
Duffysjuju, I used to think the same way. But after going on a pretty mild ride at 10 weeks I lost my baby (several years ago). I don't know of it was because of that, but I would never take my chances now. :( - Melliott 299.4 #615 3:22PM
Melliott, when you put it like that! I've just heard from other women who have been on "mild" rides and have been fine. But at my age I wouldn't want to risk it! - DuffysJuju 627.4 #173 3:24PM
Melliot, I'm so sorry! I think the best thing to do is always talk with your doctor before going on anything. Every pregnancy is different. These things also depend on what your body is used to doing and what it can handle. - Spoonful_O_Sugar 436.3 #285 3:37PM
Melliott, so sorry to hear :( - cynDOLEwhip 744.1 #137 7:56PM
@Duffysjuju It probably had nothing to do with the ride anyway. I lost my following two babies when I had taken it supet easy, so it most likely would have happened no matter what. And of course SO many women go on a million things and have no problems! :) - Melliott 299.4 #615 10:06AM
Melliott, I'm so very sorry to hear about the loss of your babies. 😔 I personally would never risk it. I love my favorite rides as much as the next person, but nothing in the world is worth the risk, if it might harm my child. Period. The rides will be there after I give birth. Just my thought. (Not in ANY way directed to you Melliot, just commenting on the ride or not debate) 😊 - DisneyFanZoe 1099.1 #75 10:12AM
I think its a book by thomas payne... - Jfigg23 254.7 #968 10:15AM
Melliot I am so sorry for your loss the same thing happened to me but I didn't know I was :/ - BubbaLoo 826.2 #109 10:20AM
@melliot, my wife went thru that same "wondering" immediately the day after we went to Knotts and all she rode was the Mine Cart ride. Took it easy the whole day, sat down alot, the one thing she did was that Mine Cart. But who's to say. She also had a doctors appt the next day (same day she miscarried) and the doc did some routine checks, everything was fine til that night :( - TheBudd 357.3 #398 10:25AM
Sorry to bump this but I never saw the replies till now. ;) That's awful Budd. Im so sorry!
Thank you guys so much for your sweet comments. I didn't want to make this about me but I'm so thankful for your sweet words. - Melliott 299.4 #615 1:26PM
So basically, all the good stuff - Kari_Bo_Berry

After going through the heartache of two second trimester loses, it aggravates the heck out of me to see people be not necessarily careless but not careful enough. - 415beachgirl

I agree...better safe than sorry. - Bo22 331.1 #469 8:16PM
I have to admit I rode roller coasters in my very early stages of pregnancy. I think that's why my Munchy seems like she chugged 5 red bulls a day with the energy she has. Plus she never stops moving. She's just going and going....😂😂😂 - WickedWench

They are supposed to stop at the corn dog cart, dole whip line and every place that sells churros--sympathy weight! Teehee - tinkmama33 6.3 #8794 3:28PM
Still talk to your doctor. A lot of women continue their regular exercise programs up to their 8th month. I know a lady that taught high impact aerobics classes until then. Some women continue running as well. Only do it of your doctor says its ok and you're comfortable with it 😃 - KissDclown

I think it's so awesome to see women doing that! It's SO easy to not do it when you're so stinking tired, but I love seeing active pregnant women :) - Melliott 299.4 #615 10:07AM
Thank you for posting! Unfortunately this is not common sense for everyone. I saw a VERY pregnant woman ride BTMRR and another guest asked the CM at boarding if she is allowed to ride pregnant. The CM said that technically they are not allowed to tell her not to ride because what if she is not pregnant. Personally I would not risk it on most of the rides at the parks. - JessicaRabbit33

30 years ago when my mom was like 3 or 4 months pregnant with my sis, she went on Space Mountain!! - reinakim
219.5 #1365 1:06PM
I would almost think to add toy story midway mania to the list. Disney doesn't say expectant mothers can't ride but it whips you around kinda tough from time to time. Or is that just me? - lostgirl7988
541.6 #208 1:24PM
I agree. I get really jostled when I ride it. - JenInWonderland 1025.1 #86 1:26PM
There are definitely other rides that moms might want to reconsider but these are the ones that Disney explicitly states that expectant moms shouldn't ride. One of the biggest concerns when it comes to theme park rides is the risk of an emergency stop on a fast ride with a lap belt or bar. If a ride makes someone scared or nervous, I would say just skip it. Better safe than sorry. - cynDOLEwhip 744.1 #137 1:28PM
The e stop on TSMM is pretty rough. I worked on the Florida version when it first opened and we had a lot of them. I vividly remember wacking my head a few times lol - lostgirl7988 541.6 #208 1:35PM
I had never ridden autopia before till I was about 3 mos pregnant with Noah. It wasn't bad at all, but the fumes probably aren't good to inhale. Knowing what it's like now, I would advise pregnant women not to ride. I would also advise pregnant women to not ride TSMM and Francis ladybug boogie. I never noticed how rough they were until I went on them with a baby in the belly - RickeyCalifornia

The fumes are terrible! - Melliott 299.4 #615 10:06AM
so youre telling me theres a chance? - PrinceTeaJack

Perfect time for this to pop back up :) - CMshelleybee
428.1 #294 10:23AM
With Autopia just put a person in your group behind you to make a buffer zone. The reason they list that is because of the seat belt and you might get bumped. I went on Star Tours and I was fine. The employee at city hall said they don't recommend POTC because of the drops. - Lelundrial
341.7 #429 10:26AM
Bump for the question regarding expectant mothers - MyPark
944.5 #92 8:04PM
I think the autopia one is stupid. Have someone in your group in the car behind you to make a buffer. The seat belt isn't even on you tightly. - Lelundrial
341.7 #429 8:19PM
Agreed. But then I've never been pregnant so I'm not qualified to say anything. - MyPark 944.5 #92 8:28PM
I think I can understand your point. - Spoonful_O_Sugar 436.3 #285 8:33PM
