Good Morning! Today in Disney history, Feb. 4th, 1999. Pixar announces the development of a proprietary laser recording system called "PIXARVISION". Converting digital computer data into images on motion picture film stock w/extraordinary quality. The new system was successfully tested on "A Bug's Life" in 1998. "PIXARVISION" will be used to produce Pixar's future animated features including Toy Story 2.
