My happy MW Rant: So as many of you know I ran my first race every yesterday. I ran the Tinker Bell half. I want to say that the event itself, in my opinion, was just magical and so much fun. But one thing that made the event extra amazing was seeing fellow MWers along the way. From the start line where I saw @veronica21 and her boyfriend Danny cheering there little hearts out. I screamed there names out like a little kid! Seeing them cheering pumped me up so much! Then running into @Mimmy as we ran behind the scenes of Disney and down Main street. I was so happy to see you and chat with you! I am so proud of you that you finished hun:)! Then seeing my dad at mile 5 brought the most insane sensation of joy over me... I have never felt that happy before, I was in utter surprise that I found them. Then running into Beau and my best girlfriend at mile 9 brought happy tears to my eyes. Beaus hug gave me so much strength. Then selling the deal at the last water station where it was Mwer heaven! I was so out of it by that point I don't even remember who was all there lol. I know VincentChase was, CptCrk, Ipoch, Brian or chris lol..., Lilo were you there? Heresnipey..... it was a blur I think I was officially out of it at that point and mad at my mom lol. Then at mile 12 bend where I again saw @veronica21 and Danny to lastly the finish line where I saw @Iamdugmaster and she offered me a thermal blanket and a hug.... just to all volunteers who took countless of early morning hours to help support us... thank you. To my dear MW family. Thank you for cheering me on, passing me water, and providing me with the countless words of wisdom and support to help me get to the finish line.... @GoffyJoe, @H3D and @Dave thank you for helping me along this journey with all my running questions. The support system that you fine folks have given me on here and on Facebook, well words can now explain how thankful I am for you guys. You all helped me achieve a dream I had... your words and kind actions helped me believe in myself. Thank you everyone... thank you MW:)
Let me further elaborate because I keep seeing post on FB and on here about people question if they can do the next 5K or half that is coming up. I just want to share with you guys that I really think that every single one of you can! I am comfortable in sharing that on July 1 2011, I could not even jog for 30 secs at a time. I could barley go a mile without wanting to die. But Joining weight Watchers and sticking to a simple training of 2 30 min walk/jogs a week and then 1 longer jog a week up till race trained me up for this. You really just need a strong support system, a dream, and a good pair of running shoes and I know you can all do this. I pretty much speed walked from mile 6-12 lol and I still made it :) Also.. the race being at Disneyland and DCA really adds an extra magical moment to it. My fav. part of the race yesterday was running through Fantasy Land and the Carousel was going and the Lost boys were on there waving and clapping us on :) - BooEve123

I agree! So much of it is mental: mind over matter (as long as you're in generally good health)! You have to dig deep inside and access your inspiration. - Spoonful_O_Sugar 436.2 #285 11:16AM
Thank you for posting this. You have inspired me to train for the next one. I started couch to 5k (again for the hundredth time lol). I feel like I'm going to die, especially pushing a strolle! Great job and hope you keep it up!! - kss4tink 216.8 #1396 12:36PM
*stroller* where was autocorrect on that one lol? - kss4tink 216.8 #1396 12:37PM
Kss4tink- Just to share my personal experience: I used coach to 5 K to week 6. I then decided that I needed to follow the Jeff Galloway running guide that was given to me during the Registration for tink. You will find your pace. One thing that coach to 5K helped me on was my endurance. One this that was so amazing to see in myself was how I no longer got winded. Even this weekend not once was I out of breath ever. It was just that my body was so tired. I am sure in -25 my joints wont hurt as bad. :-D - BooEve123 800.3 #115 12:52PM
Thanks! I will have to look up the Jeff Galloway guide. I definitely need endurance so hopefully couch to 5k will work. :). When I'm not running I always feel like I can do it and runs for long periods of time but when I'm running, that's a whole different story lol! My body is yelling at me: "STOP now before you hurt yourself!" - kss4tink 216.8 #1396 1:06PM
Thank you for posting that, Boo. I have zero endurance and can't run for a minute without my heart feeling like it's going to explode. I've done a 1/2 marathon on inline skates and that still was a huge struggle, the thought of running it seems impossible. But you have inspired me to start trying! Congrats, I know this has to mean a lot to you, as it should! You're such a doll! - Sugarbaker 271.9 #812 1:15PM
Awesome display of determination and willpower. We all new you could do it. Congratulations on a job well done. I owe you a hug in person, but for now another virtual air hug will have to do. lol - splashphotoCM

I'm so glad I ran into you Boo!!! I was feeling nauseous from the start thru mile 4 and was really unsure about even continuing the race given my lack of training. I was forcing myself to at least get thru DL when I ran into you. Your encouragement helped me to stick it out. The nausea went away soon after and I ended up being able to finish. I may have quit if I didn't run into you!! I'm so proud of you for all the hard work you put in training for this. And a great big thank you to all our MW volunteers!!! - Mimmy

sorry..... I was having a bad potty mouth lol :( I can not even explain how much getting that text at mile 10.5 crushed me. My heart sank. She is not my mom anymore i have lost so much respect for her..... yes i now know what extreme butthurt is. Seeing you guys snapped me out of it tho big time. I can not put into words how seeing you all at that moment made me stay. My moms text made me want to give up but you guys kept me going. I can not thank you enough - BooEve123 800.3 #115 12:56PM
