I wanted to give a big Thank You to stitchgrl434 for RAKing her 50th anniversary pin. Unfortunately, while en route, someone felt they deserved it, tore it out of the envelope and kept it. :(

This was probably not a malicious mailman. The machinery that the post office uses for processing envelops can often get hung up on bulky items. If an envelope is not consistent in thickness (ie. a pin/bottlcap/etc is in it) it can get hung up on the machine, and since the machine is, well a machine, the envelope rips instead of pushing the item through. Ok, judging by the picture, I really do think in this case that it just ripped open an fell out. Doesn't mean that someone didn't decide to pocket it after the fact, but I do believe that it was not deliberate. - bluefairy

This recently happened to my hubby. He won a guitar pick from one of his fave bands on EBay, the Post Office took forever to process it, when it finally came to him they had taken the pick and given him some fishing lure instead - TinkerBelleMC
