Having seen the posts about beards on CM's & the carnations gardens, I think one of the most interesting parts about Disneyland is the necessity to balance the park's demands, tradition vs ever evolving society & walts desire for an unfinished park. Is there a general rule any of you follow that determines the difference between whats tradition & whats out dated?
No. I think the main draw of Disneyland and its success is because of its high standards and small town, old time American feel. If we want the real evolving world, we may as well not even go. We get that thrown at us all day long. Disneyland is where we go to escape, and I don't think there is anything wrong with tradition or having standards. - Sweet_Irish_Cream

I can entirely agree with that, the parks ability to mentally "transport" it's visitors is by far it's most rewarding quality to me. With that being said, take out the word society - Joshuadraven 12.7 #6078 5:03PM
That pretty much says it all. - MyPark 943.7 #91 5:04PM
The question is then when is out with the old in with the new okay for a person? Just generally speaking. - Joshuadraven 12.7 #6078 5:05PM
Also. No other park can make you feel like a kid again!!! - Waites4DodgerEars 659.1 #158 5:05PM
If its not broken, don't try to fix it. 😊 - Sweet_Irish_Cream 2530.3 #23 5:08PM
You're question is valid and a good one, but to me, that's the answer to it. And I hope we can keep these ideals around for our children and theirs. 😊 - Sweet_Irish_Cream

That's a great answer! Not to say there arent parts of the park I'd like to see touched up, but I have to say I hold more of a traditionalists view on it. - Joshuadraven 12.7 #6078 5:21PM
Thanks so much for being a good sport! I appreciate it being I'm such a low ranked mw'er - Joshuadraven 12.7 #6078 5:22PM
Well, touched up and changes here and there are different from things like relaxing "dress code" and things of that nature. I'm all for chanes like the new Star Wars or revamping DCA. But when standers in the appearance of the park and people who work their come into play, that's something I hope doesn't slip too much. Hope that makes sense. 😊 - Sweet_Irish_Cream 2530.3 #23 5:26PM
I agree I want my kids to see it as a Walt intended it to be like they are stepping back in time to a place that is magical and hopefully live that legacy as kind respectful clean cut citizens. - akpoppins 243.3 #1065 5:41PM
