For all the mommas here, what age were your little ones when you stopped bringing a stroller? I'm really looking forward to the day when I don't have to take a stroller. My little guy is only 1, do any of you have any tips? I hate having to lug around his big stroller and huge diaper bag lol. Although, I know I have a while before I can stop using a stroller.

That really depends on the child...one of my kids used a stroller until he was 4 and my younger son would hardly even use one at 2 y/o! They make lightweight strollers that are really easy to take anywhere...Graco makes a good one. Good luck!! - MinnieMousewife  570.4 #194 1:17PM
Thanks everyone for the ideas! I'm gonna have to go look for a lightweight stroller now. We usually only go for a few hours at a time, so he usually doesn't need to nap. I live the idea of just putting a few diapers and snacks underneath and not using a diaper bag, I will definitely try that next time! - kss4tink  216.8 #1398 1:27PM
My boys are 3 and 6 and they still use a stroller in Disneyland. It's the only place they still use it. Their feet get tired, and sometimes they do nap in it. Sonetimes i just need to strap my youngest in to get a break from him pulling on me too! Lol! I usually park it in one place and visit all the attractions in one area then move on to the next. I am guilty of having both of then wear backpack leashes too. Gives me piece of mind and they don't mind it at all. - Disneycrazymom  99.5 #3041 1:42PM
We rented a stroller for my ten yr old last Feb! 😂😂😂😂 daddy's princess doesn't walk of her feet hurt. - Mrsblue  692.4 #145 1:50PM
Haha! That must have been a bit harder to push around :). I can see the stares of people as you walk by lol. - kss4tink  216.8 #1398 10:08PM
Glad I am not the only one who has big kids in strollers sometimes! - Minnis2Society  360.0 #391 10:15PM
People can stare all they want. After walkin around for four hours with her screaming "MY FEET!" at the top of her lungs they'd rent her one too! 😂😂😂😂 - Mrsblue  692.4 #145 11:17PM
Totally agree. Brad is 11 1/2 and when he's whiney I make him get in. Thy are only kids once and they need a break. Mine is a really big double so he pulls his feet up and the shade down! It makes it much more enjoyable when we are there a long time. - Minnis2Society  360.0 #391 11:25PM
She could not walk a step fuwther!!!! - bluefairy  627.2 #174 12:43AM
it seems that children like to have control of a situation for a while. being at Disneyland, their senses go into overdrive and they really need to walk/run it out to achieve their curiosity. strollers are sensible if you want your child to be able to rest and have a snack and a juicebox to get their strength back. i would never let my 2 year old walk all day at Disneyland...she would go into hysterics....and my wife and i DONT even give her anything with tons of sugar in it. i'm sure you could only imagine what a kid would go through with junkfood and no stroller and over stimulation. thats enough madness to wipe half the planet away into oblivion!!!! - littleoysterz  210.4 #1487 1:06AM
We used an umbrella stroller until he was 4 just so when he would get tired, we could push him around. - proudcanuck  476.4 #250 1:14PM
I'm not a mom, but my niece and nephew used a small, lightweight stroller rather than their regular larger ones. They have some fairly inexpensive ones that don't have all the bells and whistles. They fold up smaller and easier than fullsize ones, plus theirs had a strap on it so you easily put it over your shoulder and carry it. It has been perfect for Disneyland, Sea World, etc. - Mimmy  1405.6 #57 1:15PM
My 4 year old nephew still takes naps, and when we go, we go from open to close, so he needs that nap, lol.  So we still take his stroller.  Luggin' around that stroller is alot easier than using one of those backpack/leash-harness things the whole time.  So if you're a full-day visitor like me and my family, then I'd say 5 or 6 years old, so they have somewhere they can crash a bit if they get tired... - TheBudd  357.3 #397 1:18PM
Lexi is 8 and is very shy and nervou in large groups I have a big double stroller I love and she loves. When it's crowded she can "hide" in it. Also when it's crowded I make her get in because I am usually by myself. We lost my cousin when she was 4 at Disneyland because of crowds. When it's not crowded, and we go for a few hours I leave it home. All day I always bring it. Everyone also likes having someplace to store jackets snacks ect... - Minnis2Society  360.0 #391 10:15PM
Just let him crawl. Lol, jk. :) - Spoonful_O_Sugar  436.3 #285 1:19PM
Haha, sometimes I'm tempted! J/k! - kss4tink  216.8 #1398 1:24PM
My son is 3 and my daughter is 8 months, so I have to use a giant doube stroller. I know my son could probably make it all day without the sttroller but I like it in case he neds a break. When it was just my son we used to use a small umbrella stroller that had a cargo net underneath. I put diapers and snacks underneath, so I didn't have to use a diaper bag. - tinkertarna  6.2 #8921 1:21PM
My youngest only uses a stroller at DL, he walks everywhere else.  We usually stay at a hotel within walking distance, so our all-terrain stroller is perfect.  It's comfy, fully reclines, holds our gear and treasures we buy.  I only carry essentials into the parks.  Stuff like tickets, money, and room key cards stay in my pocket.  we also don't haul the stroller everywhere.  Usually we park it in one spot in each land, then explore the land on foot. - GoofyMom77  108.9 #2923 1:21PM
Mine is only 17 months, but I'll at least be using an umbrella stroller for a while! I need to know there's at least the possibility of a nap 😄 - DsnyPrincessMom  37.4 #4091 1:22PM
my son will be 4 in march and is quickly outgrowing his stroller :( i'm super sad about that cuz i use bottom to hold all my crap not to mention the (very rare) days he decides to nap, it's just convienient but in all reality we're gonna start weening him out of it cuz we're gonna try for another baby :) - croonin_momom  10.0 #6787 1:23PM
Ugh I feel you on this one! My oldest is turning 4 in the spring and I think she is close to not needing a stroller anymore (except for all day into the night trips) but then along came baby number 2 and I had to switch to the dreaded double stroller. I can't wait for the day when I get to donate that thing. I think long, all day trips would still be too hard for my oldest to do without an umbrella stroller but I'm pretty sure she could do a half day without. Guess it depends on the kid! I am doomed to stroller slinging for several more years. Here's to the day we can be free! - tballzz  390.1 #346 1:26PM
I bring an umbrella stroller for my 4 year old if I'll be there over 4 hours or so. Usually just end up parking it though. If we just go for a quick dinner trip and hit a couple rides I usually leave it in the car. - Nicole  380.2 #356 1:30PM
And instead of a diaper bag I've always used a mini backpack. Front pouch for all my stuff and usually drinks/snacks, autograph book, camera in the back. (the day she was potty trained was the greatest day ever!! No more diapers taking up space) - Nicole  380.2 #356 1:32PM
Lol, I can't wait for that day too! - kss4tink  216.8 #1398 10:05PM
I stopped but when I try to do meet ups like this Saturday night at 10:30 I brought an easy foldable bcuz I knew I was going to need it lol - MarshaMouse  2871.3 #15 1:44PM
Hehe, yeah at 10:30 at night, I think I may need a stroller myself ;). - kss4tink  216.8 #1398 10:07PM
We stopped taking one for my daughter when she was 2, but now we have a sit n stand since we have a 6 month old who needs a stoller. - VikkiMouse  182.2 #1835 1:57PM
I think it's probably personal preference...my kids are older now, but we did the umbrella stroller until they were about 2-3 then they walked or we held them. - cdeley  393.0 #343 2:01PM
Officially at 2 years but should have at 19 months! She hates the stroller!! Sometimes we take a small umbrella stroller if we skip nap time but it takes a long time to bribe her into it - pintsize  287.8 #684 2:07PM
Thanks everyone! Looks like I don't have too much longer with a stroller. I always feel like a dweeb when I hit the curb with the stroller and can't get it straightened out lol! Luckily I've never hit anyone though, phew! - kss4tink  216.8 #1398 10:11PM
I have a Chicco Litewight stroller. I LOVE it. It reclines all the way down if my 13 month old needs a nap (usually no cause like you, we only go for a few hours once a week) If you take the tram you can go all the way to the back and you don't have to break the stroller down. or-if the lines is too long I just walk there from Mickey & Friends parking lot.  - MaidMiriam  304.4 #589 10:17PM
I love having a stroller... But then again, ours is pretty awesome. It's got built in speakers and it supports my weight if i need a place to sit. I will be so sad the day we don't need it anymore. - Bubbymia  179.5 #1873 10:17PM
My son is 2 1/2 and a daughter that's almost 9 but she is a tiny girl. I will put her in it still. My son will run around for awhile and I probably could do without it but I would have less time in the parks as he would poop out too soon. To me its a life saver when they are tired but still want to be in the parks. Gives me peace of mind to know they are not gonna get lost and I get more time in the parks since they won't last as long as I do. Plus I love having the drink holders and a place to put all my souvenirs. Keep all my food and drinks in it. I actually love having it. - tenilleg  201.2 #1617 10:52PM
Good points about missing the stroller. I guess, after a year, I'm still not fully used to having one lol. I forget, with kids comes stuff. - kss4tink  216.8 #1398 11:09PM
I don't know if I'm ready to part with the storage space... I'm sure my 3 year old son is though. I like having it for naps though. (for him, not me. Lol) - cynDOLEwhip  744.1 #137 11:23PM
DisneyGirl19, about 4.5 years, a heavy Graco stroller. For the Lil One, who is 3.5, we got a lightweight stroller. So worth the $$. She does not nap anymore but she will in the parks. - PrincessDuckie  588.3 #187 11:23PM
My little sister stopped using a stroller at 5 and niece at 4 - Bambi.  595.2 #184 11:45PM
My daughter stopped at about 3 and a few months. She never would go for it really but we would manage to get her in it for the 3pm nap every once in a while but it was really just a portable locker with no lock, so we stopped altogether after doing that 4 or 5 times! Yikes... run on sentance... sorry. Loooong day! Heehee - LoveDland  300.7 #609 12:39AM
