Hi everyone! Just curious what your first memory of Disneyland is??

The first time we went to DL, iur first ride was the Matterhorn and we made my grandma ride it, at the end she was with one shoe, her rosary on one hand and her teeth on the other, she was mad all day - irmouse  241.8 #1095 8:40AM

I remember when my grandma was hot footin it to BTM thinking it was the DL railroad (train around the park) and we kept telling her it wasn't but she was insistent. Needless to say she had a rude awakening and luckily my mom ( who sat in the car in front of my grandma) didn't get a surprise either πŸ˜‚ - Keala76  293.1 #655 1:49PM

Staying at the Travelodge and walking to the Disneyland entrance. I remember walking through the huge parking lot and walking past the original Disneyland sign. Classic. - EpicDio  381.7 #355 11:10AM
I remember the huge parking lot too. I remember the Peter Pan hats with the big feathers coming out of them. I also remember that it was the norm for the kids to use the afternoon break to swim in the motel pool until our eyes were red from the chlorine. Then we'd head back to the park. Where did we get all that energy?! - Bo22  331.1 #469 11:16AM
We used to take the afternoon breaks for swimming also. Now 2 o clock comes around and I'm ready for a nap! Lol - AshleyLynn22  747.6 #136 11:28AM

My family made a trip when I was in elementary school. I am not 100% sure how old but maybe 8 or 9 at most. We were there with a bunch of family for a reunion of sorts. All the family stayed in the same hotel. We rode Haunted Mansion and it terrified me! I was convinced that ghost at the end followed us home. My brother and I were sharing a room with an uncle so my parents could have their own room. I remember walking back and forth between my room and theirs all night.  When we went with our kids I swore to make sure they weer - Autoalice  135.7 #2513 2:25PM

Main Street Electrical Parade! - cynDOLEwhip  744.1 #137 1:55PM
I can't really sort out my earliest memory, but I remember the old days of the giant parking lot, and having to walk through it to get to a tram.  Sometimes, you'd just walk to the gate, because it was faster.  I remember the smell of fumes from the buses and trams parked near the front gate, and everyone lining up at the old ticket booths to get in.  Remember the old sign on Ball, and how everyone had to turn right to get in. LOTS of memories.  I've been going an average of once a year since I was 6. 30+ years of Disneyland fun! - ThatKimberly  335.2 #452 2:01PM
My earliest memories are jumbled, since we were so close and went every weekend. What I remember most is getting a chocolate chip cookie the size of my head and watching the electric light parade and "Captain EO" when it first came out! Also remember "dopey" making me feel stupid because I asked for his autograph and he had just signed my book. I was between 5 and 7. - Disneycrazymom  99.5 #3041 2:11PM
When I was about 5 my mother insisted on taking me on the Haunted Mansion.  I was afraid of my own shadow as a kid.  I cried about every little thing.  When we were in the elevator and the lights went out and the thunder sounded... I screamed and everyone heard and laughed.." why would you take a 5 year old on somthing like this!" - NurseDisney  29.2 #4412 6:19PM
