We go every 4th, BUT we're annual passholders. We don't plan to ride any rides unless there's some miracle and there's a decent line. We pretty much eat dinner at Plaza Inn and then go watch the fireworks. It's shoulder to shoulder. I would not waste my money to buy a ticket for that day especially if you expect to ride many rides. It can literally cause a newbie to never want to come back. Check the schedule and see if they have the patriotic fireworks on the 5th and go that day instead. Hmmm.... I went last year on the 3rd and a little bit on the 4th (left in the late afternoon) and as I recall, it was eerily empty. On the 3rd, I don't think I waited longer than 15 minutes for a ride. But I can't remember if it was hot or not. - ZeeAlice  468.8 #259 6:04PM
