Just sat down to watch the rose bowl parade to see if Disneyland entered a float. No! Why are they only showing 1982? Did something happen that we can't see this years parade? Weird!
The reason they won't have the parade on a Sunday is because way back when, the parade would spook horses tied up outside the churches. Obviously no one rides horses to church now, but the tradition still stands. - PonyGrrl

It's definitely tomorrow, my son is marching in it. He is going to be at the very beginning with the RCC band and he will be holding the letter "D" in rose parade! Disney is performing with them too :o) Go Jake!!! - SoCalJean

the Rose Parade is never on a Sunday because of the crowds coming out of the churchs on Colorado Blvd would scare the horses during the parade. Thus, if New Years is one a Sunday, its on the 2nd. - BaseballMickey_CM

I'm guessing it's because everyone involved with the Rose Parade decided to go to Disneyland instead, which would explain the massive crowd at the parks. - gerardlim57
