Tomorrow is a huge day at DisneyLand! Chef Oscar Martinez will celebrate his 55th year anniversary of working at the DLR. some 40 of those years at Carnation Cafe. he is unsure if he will retire when the cafe closes for refurb. but he has stated he may just work at the jolly holiday bakery during that time. I hope whatever he decides to do he has a wonderful time doing it. He has been a staple of disneyland and I was privileged to have met him and got a picture with him. CONGRATULATIONS OSCAR!! picture shows him and his 55 year pin. the only one that has ever been made to date!

So cool! He came to our table two years ago (before I knew that he was a legand) to see how we liked our breakfast. When he found out we were from Hawaii he sat down at our table and asked us questions, and then when he left he gave us both a big hug! What a gem! - msdizmaui

Wow that is amazing! We had the pleasure of meeting him for the first time a few weeks ago! My sister and mom had no idea who he was so I explained it to them and they were in awe! What a great guy. He's my oldest CM friend, I met him many years ago. FYI, Oscar had cancer about 8 years ago, Disney paid all his medical expenses that weren't covered, which was alot. God bless you Oscar. - splashphotoCM

Yes his wifes cancer has also come back. They are such wonderful people! I am so happy disney takes care of them!
