I use to use a harness for my son, unless he promised to hold my hand. Also used a stroller. - FanOfJack  63.6 #3523 9:07PM
Just keep telling him to "Hold my fin, hold my fin"... - proudcanuck  476.4 #252 9:07PM
Sorry can't help ya, our 3 year old is either in the stroller or holding one of our hands all the time. We used to use the backpack with her but she's gotten much better at holding our hand. Just an FYI, this topic doesn't usually go down well. So if there are any rude comments about your parenting, just ignore them. - LBChica  1501.6 #52 9:08PM

Stroller, holding hands and we have used the harness. I have to tell you two weeks ago holding hands was scary didn't do it for long. Too many people rushing and not looking down to see our three year old. - PrincessDuckie  588.9 #187 9:14PM
Never have used those straps, I keep an eye on my girls. I have never lost them at dl (knock on wood). A couple of yimes when i was on my own have picked up the stickers at town hall that say " I'm with _______ " and a spot for a cell phone number just for piece of mind. - Ms. Rebel Spy  19.0 #5176 9:19PM
I didn't know they had that. Awesome thanks for that info - KissDclown  1088.1 #77 9:22PM

A stroller would probably work - LoveLove  345.9 #423 9:24PM
At 5, he should be good w just hand holding... Might look too big for the backpack/leash thing - vanGoghsStarryNight  37.1 #4104 9:38PM
I still used the stroller when he was 5.  - Dizkid  284.2 #707 9:50PM
Copious threatening to leave if they don't stay with you. Always worked for my brother and me. - LaneSparrow316  846.9 #108 9:50PM
