I just started unpacking all my Disney buys. I was going to use my new purse today but...... The anti theft thingy was left on it. I'm hoping the Disney store will remove it if I show them my receipt.

You know, this has been happening a lot lately. Not with Disney but with stores in general. Never had a problem with them leaving the security tag on and recently it's happened a lot of times. - Jillian

Soooo I finally went to the Disney store WITH a receipt to see if they would remove the security tag. She said NO! Uhhhh.......what?! She couldn't even tell me why. I guess I'm stuck with it until I return to the parks. - firemomof2

What? That is weird. My friend took his pants that he bought at a store in another town to the mall here and asked a bunch of random stores if they could take the tag off. If you bought it from the parks, the Disney Store may not have the tool to remove this. If you bought it from the Disney Store, be sure to go to the same store you bought it from because not all Disney Stores have the same tags. - Nyghtngale

They do use those same tags at the store because I saw them on their merchandise. I'm going to call Disneyland customer service line and explain what happened since I purchased at the Parks. Maybe they can call the Disney store and ok the removal. - firemomof2 128.4 #2602 12:41PM

Perhaps you are correct, they all look alike. It would have been nice to know why she couldn't remove it. Like you said, it may be a different tag. Instead I just got a "No, sorry." She should've said it nicer. But she probably meant what I was saying. I always explain to my guests why I cannot remove the tags though. This happend to my friend in Hawaii. Call Disney, they send prepaid package to mail it to them, remove the dye tag and mail it back free of charge of course :) sorry this happend to you - NalaBear

If you keep your receipt, they should. I once had a dad and son bring me a starter pin and lanyard set when they bought it back in June (it was December). The CM forgot to remove the tag also. The dad had kept the receipt and I took it off for them and they could finally open the lanyard and pins after waiting a good 6 months. - BaseballMickey_CM
