My love for Walt Disney----Its no secret that I have a deep fond love for Disney. The theme parks, the movies, the music, and the culture..its very safe to say that Walt Disney and what he has created is truly imbedded in three generations of on my fathers side... My Grandfather set their sites on Los Angles in the early 1950s after having my father in Montreal.and the family and decided to buy a house in Orange and started work at the Disneyland hotel in 1956 as a chef. He worked there for several years......I think because of that my grandparents and parents fell in love with Disneyland and use to bring me to the parks every week and even got me the an AP the very first year they came out in I think 1983 at my ripe age of 5....for years and years Disneyland all through my younger years was a thing we did as a family and all enjoyed it. I grew up with the movies like all of you. My first movie in the theater was Jungle book and my mother still says she cant believe I was quiet the whole time...Imagine that LOL...My love for all things Disney was so bad in Grammar school that the teacher told my parents in 2nd grade that she wanted me to stop sharing all my Disneyland stories during story time about your weekend because it wasn't fair for the other kids....hey they could have gotten APs HAHA.....Well all along this time my Father had a very great job and everything was going very well for us and he was with his company for 15 years until they decided to sell the company to Marriott.....He was approached by several large companies for very go jobs and weighed out his options...Little did he tell my sister and I until the day it happened was, he was now in upper management for the Disneyland Resort...Even though we all had passes it was like Christmas...Dad's working for DISNEYLAND!!! always as a kid, I always said, I'm going to work at the parks, so when that time came when I was 16 I got the job...O! Well, a year later in foods I was burnt on it and had a friend I met while working whom told me she was transferring..I said where? Character departments...WOW, she said yea, just come try out, you'd be good at it with all your energy...So I did and even though I passed the tryouts and made it!!!! My department wouldn't let me transfer yet (, I had to wait but I did get in and had the best few years working I've ever had in my life...Making others happy and creating life time memories was what Walt had done his whole life and for me to be able to walk on that stage and actually portray a character he created Goofy and many others was truly and honor. I know that there were times when I was on stage in front of his apartment taking a stroll with a little child making him and his parents day he was looking down smiling and what he had created for so many people all over the world..It was several years between working at the parks and getting into the corporate world that I really got back into Disney like I use to be..MouseWait changed that in Dec of 2009, its all been uphill since then...I cant begin to tell you how thankful I am for MouseWait and all the wonderful lifelong friends I have met on here and the new friends I meet each week..Thank You Uncle Walt for all that you have brought to my family, all the wonderful times that I, my friends and family have all had at your parks and enjoying your characters. movies and music... you've helped shaped my life, made me so happy, create memories and make wonderful friends I cant even begin to touch on it....Love you WED....

Disneyland unFORECAST (BETA) is here! Top MouseWaiters giving you the rundown of what's happening at the Disneyland Resort. The unFORECAST now has its own page on the web www.unFORECAST.com
unFORECAST for the month of April 2016 Spring Break traffic continues to make the Parks busy, however, we've made it past the heaviest part of Spring Break. Expect strong crowd levels through April 11th, and then things should slow down a bit. Look for crowds to pick up again at the end of the month and through May. Looking back at MouseWait's Historical Crowd Index (available in our MagicPlan iOS Calendar), through April 11, 2015, crowds averaged in the low 80s (approx 80% capacity), then the Crowd Index dipped into the 60s, until later in the month when the Crowd Index rose to the 70s. Remember, we've seen larger crowds ever since the 60th Celebration began, so keep that in mind when looking at historical Crowd Index data. To get a real-time look at crowd levels, check the MouseWait App for Crowd Index averages and wait times. Have a great week! - Admin Apr 4, 2016 3:24PM
