We're heading to San Francisco in two weeks and are thinking about goin to the Walt Disney family museum. Has anyone been there and do you recommend it?

I would reccomend if you would like to know more about the man.  - Starr  549.9 #201 6:57PM
Heard good things about it, you can check it out online - CaptnSparrow  559.6 #198 7:00PM
Search it here. No photos inside and lots to read. There is a store there. - Dizkid  284.2 #706 7:02PM
It was a category on Jeopardy a few days ago. The information was pretty neat. It's about the Disney family not the parks or movies. - mandigutterrose  156.4 #2204 7:04PM
That's not quite true. There's quite a bit about the making of landmark films like snow white and others that showcased new ideas or technology. It's not a Disney movie museum, but obviously everything besides the parks that Disney did revolved around animated films - JoshnSandy  42.8 #3912 8:31PM
Yes! I would say kids would get bored. An amazing man with an amazing life. We allowed 3 hours and it was not enough. 45 min before they closed they came around to give the warning and that there were 11 rooms we still had not seen. Plan more like 5 hours. We had to BLAZE thru the magnificent grand finale room with a diorama of DL. I coulda stared at that for an hour!! Take your time and enjoy!! Also next to the GoldenGate bridge with spectacular views!! - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  1798.6 #42 7:06PM
I couldn't agree with you more - JoshnSandy  42.8 #3912 8:34PM
Definitely recommend, it's a very unique look at the man whose vision brought magic to countless lives. Allow yourself plenty of time to read through everything and play around with some of the hands on exhibit. Go in the morning and you can grab lunch in the little cafe inside or go down to the Warming Hut for coffee and sandwich and also an awesome photo op. If there's a star wars fan in your group be sure to take a moment to visit the Lucas Campus at the Presidio and take pictures with the bronze Yoda. - JediStitch  429.7 #290 7:19PM
You can visit the lobby at Lucas films too. Had a meeting there once. Life sized boba fett, darth vader, n lightsabers! - AlexGold  121.2 #2707 7:41PM
We did that, it is a very good idea. They have good cili in a bread bowl, yumm - JoshnSandy  42.8 #3912 8:35PM
I loved it, but agree that little ones would get bored. I was crying by the end. My pour husband is such a good sport. - lovesminnie  436.8 #284 7:23PM
Aww. Why were you crying? So touched? - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  1798.6 #42 8:40PM
Wait- think I did too- but we were rushed out - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint  1798.6 #42 8:41PM
I enjoyed it. A lot of reading. I wouldn't bring kids.  - underthesea822  73.3 #3353 7:28PM
They also have some of the SF exclusive golden gate bridge 3" vinylmations left at the downtown SF Disney store.. if you're into that - AlexGold  121.2 #2707 7:43PM
We went for the first time in July. Josh had already read the Disney biography and really enjoyed going there. I enjoyed learning so much about Walt, his beginning and career endeavors. Bring a tissue for your visit to the last room. If you're a Disney fan of any magnitude, you WILL enjoy it. Kids will not. It's like a Walt Disney bio museum. - JoshnSandy  42.8 #3912 8:27PM
Absolutely recommend. We loved it. - DisneyRose  240.8 #1103 8:42PM
We went when it first opened. Wonderful. Amazing history. Interactive exhibits they even have the academy award for snow white with the 7 mini oscars. A must do museum. We where there for hours. Have a magical day. - sewedna  84.6 #3213 9:26PM
