So it's the holiday season and most everyone is decorating in some way, either putting up a small tree or going completely Griswald. We keep it pretty simple here at the Untrustable residence, and as we decorate, I begin to wonder about all of you and how you react in the situation we will all be faced with at some point or another. While putting up lights, you come across a strand that only half of the lights work in. Do you replace the fuses and look for the offending bulb, getting angrier and angrier as time drags by and you feel like you've replaced every stinking bulb in the cussed strand at least three stinking times and still the blasted lights are out and you just want to scream at the top of your lungs so that all the neighbors can hear but you just don't care because why should they sit there in their nicely decorated home while you pull your hair out trying to find that one bulb that has completely ruined your Christmas? Or do you just skip all the cursing and toss the strand in the garbage and buy a new one?
I pull them apart, cuss at them, THEN I throw them away. And I apply this rule to all non-functioning objects in my house - Missshelly

Home depot, I think. There was a commercial, but I'm not sure what store - Madi 204.1 #1571 12:13AM
By the time I decide to get rid of them, knowing that they will spend the rest of eternity rotting in a landfill gives me great pleasure. - SplashTheHorseDot 129.2 #2591 12:15AM
I learned my lesson a long time ago. Just go buy a new strand - 2princessdad

Lol. My husband's very organized and he sifts through all of the lights and patiently checks and fixes them. If it were me, I would get frustrated and angry and eventually throw them away and go buy new ones. - Spoonful_O_Sugar

You must be a great doctor. - tina 1154.7 #70 10:09PM
I did that last year. My dog kept drinking the water which I know is bad and the stupid cats kept eating pine needles. Now I have a beautiful 7 ft per lit tree. So easy!!! - Nicole 380.2 #356 10:10PM
I got mine out yesterday and a strand was half out I messed with a few bulbs and gave up. And this week I'll probably call one of those light hanging people and let them go to work :) - Nicole

This just happened to us last weekend. Half strand out for the tree. I told the BF let's get a new strand he said no way then spent a hour scrummeging(sp?) the entire house trying to find the mini baggy with two bulbs lol. He was very 👿😡👿😡. But he found it:) - BooEve123

Take each light off one by one. Shuffle them up and put them back on. That usually works. Good luck. - DizGeek

Hasn't happened yet (including earlier today when i finally put it up), but I got a prelit tree last year, the whole thing may get donated if it doesn't light, cuz I got rid of the old lights already. 😏😜 - bluefairy
