Hey everyone. I found a place that has discounted tickets. Does anyone have any experience with Natalie from toysun.net? 2 day park hopper for 130. Compared to 173 at Disneyland.com. Of course, I'm concerned about this being legitimate. Looks like you pay in person at their office, pick up the ticket(s), and when you're done, return them.
I would rather put the money to Disney to keep the rides safe. Also to expand on the parks. Keep jobs for CMs. - Chumash28

Well, indeed the community has spoken! :-) I am NOT going to buy my tickets this way. I am going to buy them regularly through Disneyland.com. Everyone's right. The magic that this park offers is worth every penny. I'll stick to buying the tickets regularly. - jaguartamer

Good for you!! If we didn't have such a love for Disney, we wouldn't care. Just looking out for a MW fam member :) have a fantastic time when you go! - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint 1841.2 #43 10:06AM
Y would you have to return them?? - HanLostLeia

You are basically renting the tickets. It is against Disneyland policy to transfer tickets, so if you are caught the tickets will be confiscated and you will be out of your money. Go the right way and purchase at Disneyland to avoid problems. - Katrayher

My whole thing is if you can't pay Disney prices you have no business being at DL... Shame on you for taking the easy route... Save your money and do the honest thing - mralexv

No reason to shame someone, who is is new, who possibly hasn't had experience with these kinds of things, for trying to save some money! - DarthSparrow 35.7 #4219 7:07AM
Sorry but it's the truth. I paid my tickets and my AP the right way why shouldn't they. - mralexv 306.5 #592 7:36AM
I don't think he bought the tickets yet...sounds like he was thinking about it... - islandgirl58 166.5 #32 8:25AM
I bought my ap but I'm not all butt hurt if some one can't afford it and looks for a cheaper way - Brently 233.7 #1215 9:45AM
That's plain wrong to say. Who are you to say something like that? - splashphotoCM 882.6 #104 9:48AM
Well that's a little rude. My parents buy their tickets from a local credit union. They're a tad cheaper do they not belong at disneyland either then? - ruhkel 173.2 #1989 9:49AM
First off I'm all for getting discounts ect.. The one thing I'm not for are these people that " rent" out passes.. That's what I'm talking about.. - mralexv 306.5 #592 10:09AM
I'd be concerned they're fake. Wouldn't risk it - goofygal

What these guys do is buy a bunch of the 5 day park hopper tickets and then 'rent' them out to people. Usually to groups. They make a profit, while the people who 'rent' the tickets. The reason for the return is because there are (in some cases) still days available on the park hopper ticket. They get that ticket back (usually that exchange happens inside the park), then 'rents' out that same ticket to someone new. So if a guy buys a 5 day park hopper ticket, then 'rents' the ticket (cheaper than actual price of a one day park hopper ticket) five times to five different people, and they make a profit. I watched this go down once. I simply wouldn't do it. - RadioMaverick

I think this is why the ticket office writes your name on the tickets now. When I bought tickets in June they wanted the names of all my guests. - vegasbrat 403.8 #332 8:01AM
This is not safe and shouldn't be done, definitely not legit. As someone else said, tickets are non transferable. Many people have gotten tickets through someone like this and ended up being stopped by Disney, tickets confiscated, and they lost out on money. I understand ticket prices are kind of high, but we're paying for a wonderful experience and allowing that money to go towards making the parks even better. - LBChica

Not to mention if you got them on Day 3 and they were confiscated, you're out $$ and so is the 'company' you got them from. What does the fine print say about that? *grabs monocle* - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint 1841.2 #43 8:54AM

Yes! It works. I'm in DL right now with the shared tickets. I have to give them back tomorrow morning though. Disneyland is getting way too overpriced to buy direct :( - mikeeg

Thanks! I find the real scam is that Disneyland is getting away with charging this high a price for their tickets. I like Disneyland and it's great for the kids, but charging about $80 for a one-day ticket is absolutely ridiculous. - mikeeg

I was there on Monday and the guy in front of my had what I think was a rented AP but there wasn't a picture taken yet - problem was it had been used plenty of times since the purchase - ultimately I over heard the CM telling him he HAD take the picture that day or else - didn't hear what the else was. I did hear the guy later on the monorail saying it wasn't his problem though.
Those kind of tickets scare me because what if they don't work? - sandygirl

And you know what- that happens every stinkin day. My hubby has worked undercover security in the Esplanade. People are dumb enough to do the transactions there on Disney property! - 415beachgirl 469.0 #263 6:44AM
Return them? How inconvenient not to mention odd. Churro says RED flags= no good. Pay the $, keep ticket as souvinier - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint

If you want discount tickets, there are legitimate ways you can :-) TRY AAA, I've used a place called Get Away Today( they rock and always took really good care of me) , some credit unions and banks have discount tickets, or some of those discount cards and coupon books that schools sell for fundraiser have discounts to! Good luck in your quest for mouse on a budget - DarthSparrow

That sounds strange to me too. I work for Stater Bros. and we have discounted tickets for Disneyland and that would be the ONLY place I would go outside the park! - no1goof

11.6 #6451 8:11AM
You really shouldn't do it. While one day going through the main gate a woman purchased 11 of those tickets to find out they were scammed. It was so sad to see the faces of the little ones crying because they couldn't go to Disneyland. Not to mention she most likely had to pay 15 dollars for parking for nothing. She was upset and told everyone she paid 1000 dollars for them too. Pay for a piece of mind and also to help improve the parks or for new attractions. :-) - PrincessTianaCM

Oh I have no idea but it was just really sad to witness something like that. Or people that still think oh I'm going to take my 12 year old today to Disneyland for free on their birthday...ya that promotion was only for a year...I have a friend that works maingate and tells me all the horror stories. - PrincessTianaCM 213.1 #1475 8:37AM
Awww I think it's really hard to catch me because I'm rotating between all the rides!!! Once I finish my finals I'll be able to dedicate some of my days off to meet up with MWs. - PrincessTianaCM

Yeah this isn't a good idea. You have no way of knowing if the tickets are real until its too late, plus tickets are non transferrable. If Disney found out you did this they would deny you entry. Not to mention this is morally and ethically not cool - Pixarprincess
531.5 #219 8:59AM
Be very careful. Another scam out there is people selling the 3 day park hopper gift cards from safeway that were just picked up at the check stand that were never activated. - tinkermom916
202.7 #1629 9:20AM
I think its a bad idea because you return them afterwards which means that someone else is probably going to use the left over days or it is a used ticket, which is against Disneyland's policy I think. That's just my two cents though, I wouldn't risk it. - TinkerTara_CM

I did something like this over thanksgiving this year. We went to the business which was a block from disney to pick up our tickets and it was legit. You basically are renting the tickets. I know its wrong but its the only way we could afford our trip. - kj4ever18
230.5 #1262 9:55AM
If Disneyland finds out you did this they will take your ticket away... They buy tickets in bulk for multiple days at a discounted price and then have people use different days on the tickets it's messed up to be honest and not worth getting caught over - Tink
111.0 #2937 9:56AM
my advice is, since it's against disneys policy, don't do it but I totally understand you wanna save a few $ but it's not right. - mochamistie

I'm surprised Disney hasn't shut these places DOWN! - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint
1841.2 #43 10:02AM
Oh that is good. Too scam, these people. I feel better about NOT having my pic on my AP. the pic is pretty bad. Traveling all day, it was windy. No amount of lip gloss coulda fixed it. Yeah, I could get a new pic, but it's not like I'm submitting it to Barbizon Modeling Agency - HandMeAChurroImmaFaint 1841.2 #43 10:26AM
I got a question... What would happen if you didn't return them? - vikkimus
198.7 #25 10:08AM
And here's the other problem you may run into. The ticket you are buying/renting clearly says non transferable on it. You already know something is fishy/dishonest by having to return them to this place. Now I'm not saying this couldn't happen, but from a legal stand point you could be arrested for conspiracy to defraud. I know that sounds harsh but believe me from an law enforcement standpoint it happens all the time. Disney will eventually take action and has on these businesses. Several have already closed shop or their #'s are disconnected. - splashphotoCM

So, buyer beware. - splashphotoCM 882.6 #104 10:12AM
Exactly what RadioMav said. I have an AP, but actually went through a site just like this for some relatives of mine. The prices are enticing, but the tickets are considered Disney property so if caught, they can take them away. Another bad thing about it, the offices don't usually open until 8 and you spend an hour or more waiting to get the tickets. - Minnieday
300.1 #627 10:13AM
It sounds sketchy . My thoughts are if you save $ by doing something that may feel shady to you , your sure to loss it somewhere else. I live by the karma rule. Although I wish DL were less exspencive, I'm grateful for the standards that are kept and will pay for that magic when I'm able . - My_HappyPlace

Yesterday this guy asked me if I was there the next three days cause he had tickets left from his trip and I said no only for the day so he went on asking ppl he wasn't asking for money he was giving it away and hetold the CM I'll go on the other side and the CM told him this is kind of you for doing this.. So the CM thought it was alright for him to transfer it.. - HOTDOGsMOMMY

On our last trip to DLR in July 2011. My dad wanted to save money for food in the park so he decided to get the rented tickets which I totally disagree. And once we got to the parks, it was confiscated all 6 tickets! I felt like my dad just got slapped in the face. It was pretty embarrassing. So he got his money back and bought the real tickets. We did got away last time in 2010. He got cheaper tickets for 3 days and it worked. But still didn't agree - steph122
