Thought I would share with my Disneyland loving but have responsibilities family (which are all of us). My mom got a small settlement from her mothers passing and decided that she was going to take the family to Disneyland with Hotel being paid for as well for everyone's Christmas present this year. My husband and I had to decline because of our doggy girl. Kinda bummed, but her well being trumps Disneyland.
This is why I own cats. - Nyghtngale

They do have doggie day care at dl. Do you have a friend that could house sit with her? That is what we do. - Eraf61

The Disneyland kennel club seems great, for the cost, you just have to potty break and walk your pup. I have never used it, since Princess Leia freaks at the mere sight of a kennel. - soulrenee

Rather curious as to the terminology "settlement". I am not a probate attorney nor play one on tv. - Butterlina

Haha! I am glad you let me know you are not a lawyer or that you do not play one on tv. I was totally assuming such things. =) I am guessing her life insurance or what was left of it after paying for her funeral. It was split between her and her 2 brothers. - sweetkat 285.6 #697 5:34PM
But you stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night? - Melliott 299.4 #614 10:33PM
What's a "doggy girl"? - cesium55

Lol. Doggy girl has a different connotation than girl doggy. - Spoonful_O_Sugar 436.2 #285 10:37PM
How long would the trip be for? Maybe you can try like a doggy hotel if it's not for that many days?? - SarahJoshDisney

We would if she was a dog that we had had since a puppy but she is a rescue. She was rescued from a hoarding/armature breeding operation along with 11 other dogs. She was there for the first 5 years of her life and is easily traumatized by new situations and people. We've had her for 2 years and she is slowly getting better but it can be hit and miss with her. She was even adopted out before we got her and returned because of her shy behavior. And family being with her is out of the question because they will all be at Disneyland too. =) Sorry for the drawn out explanation. - sweetkat 285.6 #697 5:46PM
Aw poor girl.. My dog was a rescue also (she lived to be 11) and she was a little jumpy but not as traumatized :( that is great of you to take such good care of her - SarahJoshDisney 69.5 #3412 5:58PM
Ah, yeah. She would have a hard time. What about having someone watch her at your house, dogsit for a day or two? - soulrenee 210.2 #1491 6:18PM
A doggy girl is our dog that happens to be a female or girl (as I refer to her). - sweetkat

Ah gotcha you can always get a dog sitter in case the hotel doesn't take dogs cuz I'm not sure how long doggy daycare let's you keep the dog there - cesium55 529.7 #217 7:06PM
Well there is a great dog hotel very close the DL. On Euclid. Couple of miles from the park. - splashphotoCM

Don't they have a Doggie daycare near the main gate? - islandgirl58

They do and we checked it out but it got such mixed reviews that we opted out. We would do friends but we don't have any that she is used to since (she was abused) she is shy and easily traumatized. We've had my family house sit when we did the parks, but they will all be in the parks so that's why we had to no go it. =) - sweetkat 285.6 #697 7:16PM
We use the doggie daycare at Disney all the time & its great they really don't have much interaction with your dog since its up to you to do it ( you are required.to return every few hours to check on your pup) - Duffysgirl
