Is it a record?!!! That my 11week old baby Sophia has been to Disneyland four times already and counting!?? :) she is my Disney baby!!!

If your pediatrician says its Ok then go. Otherwise, I personally think 11 weeks old is way too young to be going. Nothing you can really do and she won't remember a thing. - KissDclown  1088.1 #76 7:22PM
Isn't that really bad for the baby? I mean when they were younger, To be exposed to everything - erINwonderlandCM  254.9 #960 1:36AM
I asked my daughters pediatrician that when she was just born.. I knew I couldn't go 6 weeks without a visit to Disneyland.... He said it's only really bad during the winter if its snowing.... And in so cal the only snow disney has is bubbles.... So I'd say you're ok! - ktkakes  325.2 #501 9:40AM
It actually can be helpful to build immune system function as long as the baby is healthy - Pixarprincess  531.4 #214 7:20PM

No Shelley-in-wonderland I'm not kidding it was an honest question. Keep your comments to yourself. I was asking a simple question. Calm down - erINwonderlandCM  254.9 #960 8:30PM
It was an honest question Erin. Shelley leave her alone. - Mrsblue  692.4 #143 11:48PM
Romec- that's exactly what it was! My MIL didn't let me come down stairs for 6 weeks she was sure of I did my uterus would fall out! 😱😂😂😂 - Mrsblue  692.4 #143 11:49PM
Omg remic, it started annoying me when my tried covering my back weeks after my sons birth lol - MarshaMouse  2834.6 #15 1:16AM
My grandma was alway on me with that. She was always saying cover your back or your going to try your milk hand get sick Lol - Jackie211  472.2 #253 1:31AM
aww our babies are almost the same age!  - disneyfamily06  118.8 #2746 12:48AM
I have a friend whose baby died from whooping cough because she took him on a plane at 5 weeks old, long before he was due to be vacinnated. You can't control it if someone coughs around your baby, so I stayed home until they had their first shots. But everyone is entitled to their own decisions. - Missshelly  690.3 #145 7:43PM
Omg that just scared the holy heck out of me!😥 - princessVanessa  382.4 #349 7:44PM
i'm very glad this conversation is here. it is of utmost importance. my wife and i kept our daughter in our home for a few months, and even then, we kept away from really crowded/conjested areas. i'm glad, after reading the words of many of you nurses and others alike, that we followed our gut feeling, and that our feeling was right. it seems so easy for people in america to get so sidetracked and caught up in the hustle and bustle of american society, that we forget to stop and take a breath...to quit moving for a while...to let our children gather their littleminds together and start their own thinking processes. it bums me out when people just dive right back into the chaos. i am aHUGE fan of The Magic Kingdom, but i would never sacrifice the peace and quiet and calm that my family needs. they should always come first. always. wonderful advice from alot of you, i hope you know which ones you are. - littleoysterz  210.4 #1483 8:33PM
Oh my gosh! Way too young! I agree with PrincessEricka. Why would you expose your child to all of those people and illnesses. Diseases that we face now weren't around "back in the day" and when Jesus was born. Of course you are her mother and you will decide what you feel is best, but I think 85% of people would tell you that it is a bad idea. Bundle her up, take her for a walk around your neighborhood (or if you don't like your neighborhood-go to a park or high school and walk the track), take her home and show her a Disney movie...she'll never know the difference-only YOU will. Being a parent is about sacrifice, and sacrificing some months at Disneyland is not the end of the world in the grand scheme of it all. After all, some unfortunate people go their whole life without so much as one day in the happiest place on Earth. - tinkmama33  6.3 #8738 8:40PM
Yay I love baby Sophia!! - nikkinicole  191.2 #1731 1:23AM
I'll be taking my little girl when she is just a little over a week or so. I'm not due till Feb 14th. I've got time and we should be out of flu season by then. 😄 If your little one is happy and healthy I say take her as much as you want. Your only helping her by building the immune system. - Arielkitten13  120.9 #2706 7:28PM
A week old!!! 😁😁😁 - ERICKA  491.4 #242 7:32PM
Just an FYI, kids were coughing everywhere at DL tonight. I would hate to see y - ERICKA  491.4 #242 7:33PM
*your kids end up in the NICU because of a dumb choice you made - ERICKA  491.4 #242 7:34PM
I'd be SO nervous with all these unvaccinated kids running around nowadays and tradegies happening like that infant in SD last year who died from whooping cough. Keep them bundled up in a baby carrier on your chest and dont expose them to anything if you HAVE to go. A friend of ours worked with the family of that baby and it was SO sad. - Polkadobo  372.1 #369 7:38PM
I have no idea. I can't ProCreate...But I did buy ProActive once or eighty times. - Butterlina  1307.4 #61 7:33PM
I'm going with the nurses, if your doctor sayes its fine then its your choice. The world comes to DL along with all their illness and it could be a risky environment. If you are breast feeding and your Tdap and shots are up to date for yourself, then your baby is better covered passively. The reason babies sleep at DL is that the sound is too much for their little brains to handle. Why not take it easy, stay away from the crowds and give the wee one time to grow. I am a RN, PHN if you need to know. - Plumiegirl  3313.2 #10 7:52PM
Is that why I get tired of listening to my wife? - HotDiggityDogDaddy  1112.0 #74 7:54PM
Hahaha your a baby. - NeverlandTink  421.4 #303 7:57PM
I totally agree with you on that one...I'm also a RN...Not just flu season little ones can get sick...all year round...just be careful, and do the smart thing... - islandgirl58  161.9 #31 8:30PM
Also an RN that used to work newborn nursery and NICU and I approve this message. Better safe than sorry...it's your child's health at stake and not worth risking, IMO, but everyone has to make their own choice. - Sugarbaker  271.9 #807 12:52AM
Every parent and every child is different. With my son I was out and about with him the day I got out of the hospital, we went to the Del Mar race track to place a few bets to start his college fund. His first trip to Disneyland was when he was 4 mo. With my twins it was 100% different. They were born early and were not healthy. Please agree to disagree. Each parent is different and so is each child - Lifeguardmom  292.5 #656 8:01PM
You took your kid gambling straight out the hospital?! Are you from Salinas? - HotDiggityDogDaddy  1112.0 #74 8:02PM
Nope I'm from Prattville Al! No need to say anything more then that. I will say when I had my twins I had to put a sign on my stroller that read YES we are twins YES we are identical NO you can not touch us! - Lifeguardmom  292.5 #656 8:28PM
I think people are taken aback because Sophia has been there 4 times already at 11 weeks old. This likely means she was brought there when she was pretty brand new, at least once. It's always beneficial to have a decent immune system in place in this type of environment. I am also a Nurse (Neonatal Intensive Care) and I wouldn't bring a new baby there. Better safe than sorry. - Bo22  331.0 #464 8:18PM
Wow there are a lot more of us nurses on here than I thought - ERICKA  491.4 #242 8:19PM
Not quite the reaction you were looking for, eh? I bet you thought everyone would be jealous! Lol - Fruitbythefoot  33.3 #4229 8:24PM
Honestly guys most likely the baby stays in the stroller and I'm sure mom washes her hands. It's not like she is taking the baby out and rubbing her on hand rails. People parent different I'm sure most would say I'm crazy because my 7 year olds are in bed on school nights by 7:30 and that my 9 year old is in bed at 8. Or the my first born slept no place but his crib and my twins slept whenever and where ever they fell asleep. I'm sure she takes precautions - Lifeguardmom  292.5 #656 8:48PM
I seriously just lol at the image of someone taking their baby and rubbing it's face on a carousel horse pole.  - Polkadobo  372.1 #369 8:53PM
I love how you said this... When my daughter was tiny she was in the stroller with a blanket covering it to block out some of the noise and sun. I washed my hands constantly and also what happens when you go to the park without the baby and cone home right after and hold the baby... The germs are in your body and you can transfer just as easily... It just comes down to individual situations an comfort levels... - ktkakes  325.2 #501 8:57PM
Awwwwww! - Mouse4life  1037.7 #82 12:46AM
It's not like we stay til close! She loves it! It's like our walk in the park! - elenalove08  38.8 #4025 7:17PM
I remember my 2 month old son loved to admire christmas lights from our tree. It really calmed him down. He's now obsessed with different holiday decorations. - Polkadobo  372.1 #369 7:40PM
My daughter's pediatrician said I couldn't have her out for a year. Haha yeah right. Her first visit was when she was 2 weeks old. Yea she doesn't remember being there that young, but we do. 👫 - bellaminnie  264.5 #872 7:37PM
I love parents like you!!! You are the reason health care costs rise!!! Listen to your doctor!!! This is coming from a nurse... - ERICKA  491.4 #242 7:39PM
Parent of the year. Way to listen to your doctor. Cause you know better, right? - ERICKA  491.4 #242 7:44PM
Why bother with the pediatrician if you won't abide their advice? Might as well go right on knowing what's best. - mandigutterrose  156.4 #2201 12:23AM
In no way am "I" the reason for health care cost rising!! My daughter has only been sick once. And that was when she was a year and half old. I know how to take care of my child. We have our precautions. I'm not going to keep my child in a bubble. And thanks for judging so quick. The only thing we did was visit old CM friends we had in the parks. No rides. - bellaminnie  264.5 #872 1:49AM
Yes I understand the concern people have for a child out in the public young. We took great care of her and still do. She is my pride and joy. But honestly don't be so quick to judge someone when you don't have all the facts. If you have a question about the situation you can ask, not assume you know everything that I have done. - bellaminnie  264.5 #872 2:08AM
Jesus was born in a cave. Mary never had pre-natal care. Jesus never had a pediatrician. He turned out just fine. That's what I always tell my wife. - HotDiggityDogDaddy  1112.0 #74 7:40PM
Jesus was divine. He was the one and only. - ERICKA  491.4 #242 7:41PM
Jesus was also a human. He died. So I wouldn't say that just because he's Jesuse he was able to live trough all that. - dlmickeymouseCM  2348.6 #27 7:54PM
True or not, I'm pretty sure the story goes that Jesus was born in a shed with a bunch of barn animals and strangers visiting. Then he went on to make water from wine. Maybe there's something to this whole lack of sanitation thing. - mandigutterrose  156.4 #2201 12:27AM
Or wine from water. And something about fish and loaves. - mandigutterrose  156.4 #2201 12:28AM
I only say its bad because I see what happens, what guests do that other may not see. Also because I caught a foreign rash that is commonly found in china and was out sick for two weeks and this was at 22 years old I would hate to see what that illness could possibly do to an baby that is 11weeks old. - PrincessTianaCM  213.1 #1439 7:45PM
I took my son at 5 months and we went on Alice and he was fine...and he had his whooping cough shot while we were in the hospital when he was born ...my doctor said it was fine ..but I think its what you personally feel comfortable with... - Daisylove!4  112.1 #2863 7:50PM
H3D you are special. I think guys like the short version of talk and we women just love to tell the whole story. Just don't let her see you sleeping when she is talking.  - Plumiegirl  3313.2 #10 7:55PM
Maybe I'm just over protective, but I wouldn't want to take the chance of my baby getting sick. I didn't take my daughter to Disneyland until she was a year old. She's almost 18 now and was recently sick with the flu for 2 weeks. I couldn't imagine an infant being as sick as she was. - GlitterFabulous  79.9 #3273 8:15PM
We took our son after his first set of shots. But we took him out the first day we were out of the hospital - Chumash28  763.3 #129 8:23PM
I think when your still counting by weeks it might be too soon... 6 months if you have a perfectly healthy baby... Unless your off that movie the grown ups and still tell people your 2 year old is 104 weeks.... Hehehe - vikkimus  197.4 #1659 8:26PM
Hahahahahaha love it!!! - shelley-in-wonderland  18.0 #5262 12:04AM
The Lil One was two months when we first took her, but it was in August. In the 70-80 degree weather. She was full term and healthy. If she was the same age during winter we would not have taken her. - PrincessDuckie  576.8 #188 8:38PM
Your baby will be fine your not crazy. I have 3 kids took them to the park a lot when the where like 10 weeks and they never got sick. I think the more you keep them home the more sick they will get when you take them out. I have friends and family that have done the something taken their babies when they were very small and never got sick. - piratemom  458.0 #266 8:43PM
Sophia is in good health! thanks for those who just want the everyone of all ages to enjoy all the magic and imagination Disney has! It's better to get them used to it young so imagination never dies! And thanks to those who are concerned if she got sick. But she is a happy smiling go lucky baby who is just my life! :) - elenalove08  38.8 #4025 11:28PM
I asked our doc when bella was born if its safe. This is how she put it. Its ur choice. And u know whats best. And sometimes things happen. But thats what modern medicine is for. We have come along way. Sometimes were overprotective thinking we can shelter our kids. So we took our girl at 3 weeks, 8, weeks and again next week at 3 months :) she hasnt gotten sick once. Even though in 2 months I have been SIQ twice.....(bug going around our shop) my son 8 days after he was born. Moved accross country. Its the life. He was 2 and half months when we did it again to drive home to family for christmas. On countless trips. And she will do the same. All I can do is pray for their health and saftey. Cover her up when we go out and never hand.her to people who seem ill. No my children probibly wont remember disneyland, but I Will, my wife will! Shell rwmember the first time she took her.daughter through sleeping beautys castle. My sons eyes widen when he saw fireworks over.rhe castle, and his excitment the forst time on potc. And one day when were back in texas and they cant remember when they used to go to disneyland every weekend, we will come again! God gave us the gift and oportunity to recieve eternal life with him, we were never promised tomorrow. So live life and enjoy taking ur child to disneyland! :) wrap her up and keep her warm :) - Jfigg23  254.7 #963 11:48PM
It sounds like u HAD to do alot....thats no fun. When I take my kids I GET to do alot. :) also we know our limits. This aint our first rodeo! Lol. We only go for a few hours. Maybe a couple of rides, or none at all. Eat. Grap a hot chocolate or coffee. Watch a show or 2 And enjoy! Its the magic of the park! Plus the baby center people are great! I can chat with them all day! - Jfigg23  254.7 #963 12:40AM
I think that's awesome! :D - disneygirl19  121.9 #2689 11:50PM
First going to DL after a car accident, now this. Please for the sake of your children, if they are newborns or just were in a car accident do not take them to Disneyland. Their safety is priority not if they think you're a cool parent (plus newborns won't remember) - cesium55  529.7 #215 12:05AM
Not to go to deep into personal history, but I've already lost one baby and I'm pregnant with our second. If this birth is successful it's going to be a long and cautious journey for us to take our baby out. To each parent's own, but I'm especially concerned about hearing damage, communicable illness (not everyone has gotten a DTAP or TDAP vaccine much less a flu shot), and there's also the untrustworthy people on top of all that, taking strollers and diaper bags and things. No need to preach, but I will say please be a very wary bear when it comes to your children. - mandigutterrose  156.4 #2201 12:15AM
Yikes! You sparked some conversation! If your baby is healthy, warm, fed, and well rested, then it is up to you and your pediatrician to decide what's best for baby! I got a comment once about having my daughter in public, didn't appreciate it. - MamalovesMinnie  4.8 #10926 12:21AM
I'm somewhat along those lines. I'm lenient with caution when it comes to myself but when it comes to the well being of others erring on the side of caution is my number one priority. Not to the point of paranoia or overprotection, but definitely not outsmarting common sense. - mandigutterrose  156.4 #2201 1:05AM
