Is it a record?!!! That my 11week old baby Sophia has been to Disneyland four times already and counting!?? :) she is my Disney baby!!!

If your pediatrician says its Ok then go. Otherwise, I personally think 11 weeks old is way too young to be going. Nothing you can really do and she won't remember a thing. - KissDclown  1089.3 #148 7:22PM
Exactly! I went once sort of against my will. I had a 5 month old. I couldn't do anything and he was the one that was always sleeping. Spent most of the day on main street and in the baby care center becuz he had special feeding needs. No fun at all and neither He or his then 1 1/2 yr old brother remember a thing. - Romec123aKaSmartyPants  668.3 #261 7:28PM
Isn't that really bad for the baby? I mean when they were younger, To be exposed to everything - erINwonderlandCM  261.1 #1164 1:36AM
I asked my daughters pediatrician that when she was just born.. I knew I couldn't go 6 weeks without a visit to Disneyland.... He said it's only really bad during the winter if its snowing.... And in so cal the only snow disney has is bubbles.... So I'd say you're ok! - ktkakes  331.1 #676 9:40AM

I have a friend whose baby died from whooping cough because she took him on a plane at 5 weeks old, long before he was due to be vacinnated. You can't control it if someone coughs around your baby, so I stayed home until they had their first shots. But everyone is entitled to their own decisions. - Missshelly  698.3 #243 7:43PM
Omg that just scared the holy heck out of me!πŸ˜₯ - princessVanessa  384.3 #537 7:44PM
i'm very glad this conversation is here. it is of utmost importance. my wife and i kept our daughter in our home for a few months, and even then, we kept away from really crowded/conjested areas. i'm glad, after reading the words of many of you nurses and others alike, that we followed our gut feeling, and that our feeling was right. it seems so easy for people in america to get so sidetracked and caught up in the hustle and bustle of american society, that we forget to stop and take a breath...to quit moving for a while...to let our children gather their littleminds together and start their own thinking processes. it bums me out when people just dive right back into the chaos. i am aHUGE fan of The Magic Kingdom, but i would never sacrifice the peace and quiet and calm that my family needs. they should always come first. always. wonderful advice from alot of you, i hope you know which ones you are. - littleoysterz  242.3 #1362 8:33PM
Oh my gosh! Way too young! I agree with PrincessEricka. Why would you expose your child to all of those people and illnesses. Diseases that we face now weren't around "back in the day" and when Jesus was born. Of course you are her mother and you will decide what you feel is best, but I think 85% of people would tell you that it is a bad idea. Bundle her up, take her for a walk around your neighborhood (or if you don't like your neighborhood-go to a park or high school and walk the track), take her home and show her a Disney movie...she'll never know the difference-only YOU will. Being a parent is about sacrifice, and sacrificing some months at Disneyland is not the end of the world in the grand scheme of it all. After all, some unfortunate people go their whole life without so much as one day in the happiest place on Earth. - tinkmama33  7.2 #12342 8:40PM
Yay I love baby Sophia!! - nikkinicole  191.2 #2004 1:23AM
I'll be taking my little girl when she is just a little over a week or so. I'm not due till Feb 14th. I've got time and we should be out of flu season by then. 😄 If your little one is happy and healthy I say take her as much as you want. Your only helping her by building the immune system. - Arielkitten13  148.2 #2635 7:28PM

*your kids end up in the NICU because of a dumb choice you made - ERICKA  491.5 #390 7:34PM
I'd be SO nervous with all these unvaccinated kids running around nowadays and tradegies happening like that infant in SD last year who died from whooping cough. Keep them bundled up in a baby carrier on your chest and dont expose them to anything if you HAVE to go. A friend of ours worked with the family of that baby and it was SO sad. - Polkadobo  384.7 #535 7:38PM
I have no idea. I can't ProCreate...But I did buy ProActive once or eighty times. - Butterlina  1512.9 #95 7:33PM
I'm going with the nurses, if your doctor sayes its fine then its your choice. The world comes to DL along with all their illness and it could be a risky environment. If you are breast feeding and your Tdap and shots are up to date for yourself, then your baby is better covered passively. The reason babies sleep at DL is that the sound is too much for their little brains to handle. Why not take it easy, stay away from the crowds and give the wee one time to grow.Β I am a RN, PHN if you need to know. - Plumiegirl  8572.8 #3 7:52PM
Is that why I get tired of listening to my wife? - HotDiggityDogDaddy  1113.3 #142 7:54PM

I totally agree with you on that one...I'm also a RN...Not just flu season little ones can get sick...all year round...just be careful, and do the smart thing... - islandgirl58  309.3 #22 8:30PM
Also an RN that used to work newborn nursery and NICU and I approve this message. Better safe than sorry...it's your child's health at stake and not worth risking, IMO, but everyone has to make their own choice. - Sugarbaker  273.5 #1035 12:52AM
Every parent and every child is different. With my son I was out and about with him the day I got out of the hospital, we went to the Del Mar race track to place a few bets to start his college fund. His first trip to Disneyland was when he was 4 mo. With my twins it was 100% different. They were born early and were not healthy. Please agree to disagree. Each parent is different and so is each child - Lifeguardmom  295.2 #866 8:01PM

I think people are taken aback because Sophia has been there 4 times already at 11 weeks old. This likely means she was brought there when she was pretty brand new, at least once. It's always beneficial to have a decent immune system in place in this type of environment. I am also a Nurse (Neonatal Intensive Care) and I wouldn't bring a new baby there. Better safe than sorry. - Bo22  387.2 #531 8:18PM

Honestly guys most likely the baby stays in the stroller and I'm sure mom washes her hands. It's not like she is taking the baby out and rubbing her on hand rails. People parent different I'm sure most would say I'm crazy because my 7 year olds are in bed on school nights by 7:30 and that my 9 year old is in bed at 8. Or the my first born slept no place but his crib and my twins slept whenever and where ever they fell asleep. I'm sure she takes precautions - Lifeguardmom  295.2 #866 8:48PM

I love how you said this... When my daughter was tiny she was in the stroller with a blanket covering it to block out some of the noise and sun. In no way am "I" the reason for health care cost rising!! My daughter has only been sick once. And that was when she was a year and half old. I know how to take care of my child. We have our precautions. I'm not going to keep my child in a bubble. And thanks for judging so quick. The only thing we did was visit old CM friends we had in the parks. No rides. - bellaminnie  264.7 #1136 1:49AM
Yes I understand the concern people have for a child out in the public young. We took great care of her and still do. She is my pride and joy. But honestly don't be so quick to judge someone when you don't have all the facts. If you have a question about the situation you can ask, not assume you know everything that I have done. - bellaminnie  264.7 #1136 2:08AM

I asked our doc when bella was born if its safe. This is how she put it. Its ur choice. And u know whats best. And sometimes things happen. But thats what modern medicine is for. We have come along way. Sometimes were overprotective thinking we can shelter our kids. So we took our girl at 3 weeks, 8, weeks and again next week at 3 months :) she hasnt gotten sick once. Even though in 2 months I have been SIQ twice.....(bug going around our shop) my son 8 days after he was born. Moved accross country. Its the life. He was 2 and half months when we did it again to drive home to family for christmas. On countless trips. And she will do the same. All I can do is pray for their health and saftey. Cover her up when we go out and never hand.her to people who seem ill. No my children probibly wont remember disneyland, but I Will, my wife will! Shell rwmember the first time she took her.daughter through sleeping beautys castle. My sons eyes widen when he saw fireworks over.rhe castle, and his excitment the forst time on potc. And one day when were back in texas and they cant remember when they used to go to disneyland every weekend, we will come again! God gave us the gift and oportunity to recieve eternal life with him, we were never promised tomorrow. So live life and enjoy taking ur child to disneyland! :) wrap her up and keep her warm :) - Jfigg23  257.8 #1196 11:48PM
I'm confused. How can you possibly enjoy yourself. Babies need ALOT of attention and down time. I went with a 4-5 month old couldn't do anything. By the time I got to an attraction I had to stop to do something for the baby. Then not too long after something else. You have to carry a moving van stocked for a baby. Stroller, blankets, water, diaper bag full of diapers, extra clothes, wipes, powder/cream, medicine in case they get sick, baby food, toys, among a bunch of other things babies need. WHAT does the baby know at 3 weeks. They can't even distinguish colors! - Romec123aKaSmartyPants  668.3 #261 12:09AM
It sounds like u HAD to do alot....thats no fun. When I take my kids I GET to do alot. :) also we know our limits. This aint our first rodeo! Lol. We only go for a few hours. Not to go to deep into personal history, but I've already lost one baby and I'm pregnant with our second. If this birth is successful it's going to be a long and cautious journey for us to take our baby out. To each parent's own, but I'm especially concerned about hearing damage, communicable illness (not everyone has gotten a DTAP or TDAP vaccine much less a flu shot), and there's also the untrustworthy people on top of all that, taking strollers and diaper bags and things. No need to preach, but I will say please be a very wary bear when it comes to your children. - mandigutterrose  156.5 #2521 12:15AM
Yikes! You sparked some conversation! If your baby is healthy, warm, fed, and well rested, then it is up to you and your pediatrician to decide what's best for baby! I got a comment once about having my daughter in public, didn't appreciate it. - MamalovesMinnie  17.9 #7050 12:21AM
Why bother with the pediatrician if you won't abide their advice? Might as well go right on knowing what's best. - mandigutterrose  156.5 #2521 12:23AM
True or not, I'm pretty sure the story goes that Jesus was born in a shed with a bunch of barn animals and strangers visiting. Then he went on to make water from wine. Maybe there's something to this whole lack of sanitation thing. - mandigutterrose  156.5 #2521 12:27AM
Or wine from water. And something about fish and loaves. - mandigutterrose  156.5 #2521 12:28AM
Water=Wine. Loaves=Fish - Romec123aKaSmartyPants  668.3 #261 12:37AM
It sounds like u HAD to do alot....thats no fun. When I take my kids I GET to do alot. :) also we know our limits. This aint our first rodeo! Lol. We only go for a few hours. Maybe a couple of rides, or none at all. Eat. Grap a hot chocolate or coffee. Watch a show or 2 And enjoy! Its the magic of the park! Plus the baby center people are great! I can chat with them all day! - Jfigg23  257.8 #1196 12:40AM
Fine then I'll answer the original question! NO it's not a record. According to the many posts here there are MANY women who go into labor, have a baby and run to Disneyland! - Romec123aKaSmartyPants  668.3 #261 12:44AM
I seem to recall seeing something in the Backstage passholder magazine that a family that won a stay in the Dream Suite during the Year of a Million Dreams had just left the hospital with newborn in tow and gone straight to Disneyland. On top of health concerns, what mother on earth has the energy for a day at Disneyland after labor and delivery!? - mandigutterrose  156.5 #2521 12:51AM
I'm 40. Raised by a woman born in 1902. Regardless of my age I'm traditional and pretty old school. I view things as better safe now then sorry later. Just me. - Romec123aKaSmartyPants  668.3 #261 12:55AM
I would suck it up for that! Even if I have to lay in bed all day :-p - tiggertwin  330.3 #680 1:01AM

Also an RN that used to work newborn nursery and NICU and I approve this message. Better safe than sorry...it's your child's health at stake and not worth risking, IMO, but everyone has to make their own choice. - Sugarbaker  273.5 #1035 12:52AM

I'm somewhat along those lines. I'm lenient with caution when it comes to myself but when it comes to the well being of others erring on the side of caution is my number one priority. Not to the point of paranoia or overprotection, but definitely not outsmarting common sense. - mandigutterrose  156.5 #2521 1:05AM

Omg remic, it started annoying me when my tried covering my back weeks after my sons birth lol - MarshaMouse  4124.3 #25 1:16AM
My grandma was alway on me with that. She was always saying cover your back or your going to try your milk hand get sick Lol - Jackie211  472.7 #405 1:31AM

My first software project launched in 2003 as an experiment in online productivity. http://cchealth.org/eh/retail-food/dog-law-faq.php Β  I know folks love theiri pets but I still do not think this is sanitary Β from a food perspective. See the url for CA law. Unless they provide a designated pet area outside, dogs cannot lick the plates/utensils, who cleans up after a dog accident......No pets in at a restaurant for now (service dogs are the exception). Disney is excellent with their food cleanliness in the parks per the Public health inspections. DTD does not fare as well per Retaurarant inspection. Check the Health Care Agency for the current restaurant inspections. As a Public health nurse I always check to see who is keeping clean in their kitchens. Diners beware! - Plumiegirl  8572.8 #3 10:42AM
