Who has ATT and tried going on the internet at Disneyland recently? BAD?!?!?! Keep this bumped please... it needs to be fixed PRONTO.
AT&T is just a bad company when it comes to working when you're in an area with large crowds (especially iPhone users). Thank goodness for Verizon! - Oinker34
867.7 #107 11:06PM
I disagree too. Other than currently at Disneyland intend to have the same of not better service than my Verizon friends. - KissDclown 1088.4 #77 9:19PM
ξ I had very hard time at the parks, after several years here and not going to the parks I wanted to make the roll call post. Never was able to post, even near The Grand Californian. - connielu 672.2 #162 8:45AM
I have given up on service in park for last two half weeks:( has been really bad, I started marking spots through the AT&T app, hope they fix it - BooEve123
800.8 #121 10:29PM
Yes, pleeeease use the Mark the Spot app. I would also call into customer care and have it noted on your account that you have bad service in that area. They might be able to do a ticket with tech support to have it looked at - LBChica
1560.6 #52 10:38PM
The last two days at the parks have been the worst in over a year, it's absolutely rediculous. I got a text from AT&T saying I'm in the top 5% of data usage and they might start slowing down my service for data because of my unlimited data plan and I'm wondering if they are punishing the whole area of Disneyland just to reduce the constant high usage in that area - Dave
8822.1 #2 11:20PM
That's lame. If they offer unlimited data, they shouldn't punish you by slowing it down cuz you actually use it. I probably have the same plan but I'm not in the parks to get up to that 5%. - cesium55 531.2 #221 12:20AM
The fact that we pay for unlimited but don't truly get it irks me. - cesium55 531.2 #221 12:30AM
I stream allot on my phone like Sirius Radio and even Netflix at time so I take up a lot of data not including all the times at the parks on MouseWait - Dave 8822.1 #2 12:31AM
Ya I realized you probably did other stuff on your phone and didn't mean to imply you're at the parks all the time. That's crazy talk ;) - cesium55 531.2 #221 12:39AM
Would it help to have a cell tower in the parks. And would it help everyone? - splashphotoCM 880.9 #104 12:40AM
I don think they would put a cell tower in the parks especially since Disney is with Verizon :/ - djbreakdown 567.1 #201 8:49AM
I think it's safe to say that ATT, Verizon and Sprint are all equally bad and can't keep up with growth. It's not just Disneyland it's happening all over. If all 3 would work together and share their towers as they do in other countries we would all be happy. But that will NEVER happen$$$$$$$$$$$ - SUUZinOC
715.9 #141 11:45PM
I used to work for AT&T in the tech dept, when service goes out like it does often at Disneyland, the network is just bogged with users. This week being a holiday, not surprised at all it happened. Best thing to do is use mark the spot for iPhone users, and if you feel the need to call it in just ask customer service to submit a network quality report, tech support will only come into play if the cell sites are completely down to create a case. Hope that helps for some of you. - JerrBear
103.7 #3033 11:46PM
Some people have been complaining for 2-3 weeks - toph 2406.7 #26 11:52PM
They marked the spot all day. It didn't work. - Mrsblue 692.4 #151 11:53PM
I've seen the cell site locations around the park and it's not the greatest set up. Unfortunately the only way to really get the service everyone would like is to add cell sites, that means jumping through all the hurdles the city of Anaheim has to propose to break ground for at least one new cell site. - JerrBear 103.7 #3033 11:54PM
There's definitely something wrong with AT&T at DL the last couple weeks. Are crowds the problem? No! I have gone every weekend for over a year. Christmas, new years, etc. This has been much worse and not nearly as many people. - Tom
4013.7 #7 1:06AM
Yup, it was awful on Monday. I only have a 200 MB plan and used up a ton trying to get on plus my battery was almost dead. - Polkadobo 372.1 #382 1:12AM
Yes, this has been a big problem and it really affects MouseWait - I have noticed slow data even when the crowds are not that heavy, then you can barely get a signal when it is busy. This is really going to affect us through the end of the year when the Parks are packed. Please make calls to your carrier and complain about the bad service in Disneyland. - Admin

I have Verizon on the laptop and only problem is when making a reply half of it gets cut off in mid sentence. - splashphotoCM
880.9 #104 10:35PM
But have Sprint and an android w/3G. Not in the parks the last few days but very bad. Lots of no connectivity alerts. In the parks is bad unless near GCH. - splashphotoCM 880.9 #104 10:56PM
Search Admin's posts from today. He's asking AT&T users to use an app called Mark the Spot when in the parks. It reports bad service so the company can work on improving it. - susieQzee

I downloaded the app. Thanks! - kristian 1806.9 #45 10:39PM

The worst service in over a year!!! I had to download that App again because I hadn't used it in so long. Marks the spot was a joke...half the time when submitting it took 4-5 minutes to submit the request...if it went throughπ - toph

3502.6 #11 11:43PM
it was impossible to post park pics..it would eat our battery and just time out anyway. I had to wait to post the pic of Derek Hough for over two hours unitl I could hop on the Hotel Wifi cause it was impossible...I'm calling ATT tomorrow - Dave 8822.1 #2 11:47PM
Verizon is super spotty and slow too. Over the past three days it has taken forever to load the lounge and post wait times. Posting live pics takes so long that the connection times out. - soulrenee

I KNEW that was you!!! - SergZak 3125.8 #14 12:13AM
Another piece of information for the Mark The Spot app users. You only need to submit the info at the most 3 times a day if you are at the parks all day. That's morning, afternoon and night. If you submit in DCA it will be the same as if you submitted info at DL, it's not a pin point location being submitted its just general area. - JerrBear
103.7 #3033 12:17AM
That's Not what GoofyJoe said. And he single handedly fixed the problem last time. Just ask him. - Mrsblue 692.4 #151 12:23AM
I heard all the bad cell service is cuz there is only one local cell tower near the parks. - CM_Clopin
247.8 #1048 12:26AM
Pretty much, no cell sites in the park. The ones around the parks service the parks plus freeway traffic, hotels, restaurants ect. - JerrBear 103.7 #3033 12:32AM
Oh my goodness. One tower, one connection to home base. A gazillion tourists and locals hitting the base station at the same time = bad. - wantsback2dis 8.2 #7663 10:08PM
Well its because there are so many guests using the cell towers on the 3G band.. i use verizon and its still REALLY slow (Verizon and Disney have an agreement together as business partners so Verizon has to have coverage throughtout the park).. well I cant wait for some Verizon 4G LTE goodness! - DonaldMissingPants

300.2 #626 10:00AM
I wonder how expensive it would be for the resort to add a buttload of wireless routers and create a giant hotspot (sponsored by Verizon). Maybe subsidize it with a small fee, like $5 a day. - deejayque
218.3 #1408 10:11AM
Subsidize it? You're kidding, right? With everyone posting status updates and pictures, food reviews, and character interaction experiences (not just on MW, but FB, Twitter, etc.), it's free advertising for the parks. Let's face it, you read about others' experiences, and you want them for your own, especially when it comes to Disney. No better way to drum up business than word of mouth. - susieQzee 486.7 #251 10:56AM
No, not kidding. First of all, if Disney went to the expense of installing hundreds of wi-fi routers, wired bandwidth to then pay people to support it, I expect there to be costs involved. They can either pass those costs to everyone who buys a ticket or pass it to the people using the service. Secondly, just because it may potentially be free advertising for Disney doesn't mean they would give it away. Just about every t-shirt and hat sold in the parks has Disney logos and characters all over them, which is free advertising for Disney. I don't anticipate either being given away for free. - deejayque 218.3 #1408 12:04PM
I also have one of the new smart phones with Verizon and my cell service is horrid in the park. - JediStaceyB

Bump for feedback regarding 4G technologies like wimax (sprint) and LTE (verizon and soon att) in the parks. I think its better since not a lot of people are in that frequency/service (and for the geeky people, has better time getting coverage at DL because of the lower frequency, at least for LTE) - wantsback2dis

25.2 #4735 10:48PM
I have Sprint and I always have service (FYI, Sprint and Verizon share the same towers. Family member works for Sprint corporate). However, whenever I'm in the park - it goes in and out sometimes. This is most likely due to the guest capacity and everyone on their phones, as well as the Holiday season in full effect. Just be sure to charge your phones everyone, as searching for service tends to eat up battery life! Happy holidays (0: - Jacqueline
