just read a nice article on yesterland about the upcoming avatar land in Disney world. I personally think its a bad idea. I don think that movie will translate well into a theme park. and I don't like the thought of an outside franchise shoved into a Disney park. everyone's thoughts positive or negative?
It is a little different from indy and star tours in two major ways, though. IJ & ST are both attractions that were placed in pre-existing lands. The fit was natural, not forced. Avatar, if I've read correctly will be an entire land devoted to a movie that is not Disney. The second difference is that Disney gave the Lucas films time to become deeply rooted in the fantasy of America. While Avatar is not without merit, it's just not there, at least not yet. Give it fifteen years, then we'll see if it still seems like a good idea. My advice to Disney: spend a little less money buying other people's well-made film rites, and make a few more land-worthy films like Lion king and Aladdin. - LittleAprilShowers

Its basically the same thing as Indiana jones and star tours. I don't see anything wrong with it - erINwonderlandCM

Your right about star wars and indy. Totally forgot about that! One key difference, I love those movies! Avatar stinks! Haha - docter419 6.8 #8289 10:49AM
Why do you hate the futuristic adaptation of Pocahontas? - shadowgamer 1954.3 #37 10:53AM
I think Disney knows what they are doing. There is so much you can do with Avatar. You may not like the movie but millions of other people do. - erINwonderlandCM 254.9 #961 10:55AM
Why not give it a chance, and if you don't like it, don't go there. Easy. - ERICKA

Because people rather complain than just realize others might like it and they dont have to go if they dont like it... - shadowgamer 1954.3 #37 10:54AM
Good answer my Shadow! - SueBayou 2012.0 #34 11:13AM
The great thing about Disney is if they try something and it doesn't meet their expectations, they redo it (DCA) or remove/replace it (Rocket Rods). There is nothing for them to lose in trying. I mean its not like they are turning the submarine ride into a Titanic Adventure ride. - SorcererBHhaha
