I'd say to expect long lines, then if they're shorter it will be a pleasant surprise. But in any case, don't think of it as just standing in line. Enjoy the surroundings and spend time with your family. Also getting to know people around you is fun too. Look for birthday buttons or other things and help spread the Disney magic. I went during Christmas and used the FP system. The longest we waited was 45 mins for TSMM (no FP). We utilized the single rider option as well.
