In all honesty whats too early to take our newborn to disneyland? Shes a week old and we already cant wait to go. And our 2 yo son is already asking....:)

With all the germs, flu and cold going around, I wouldn't take a newborn out. - Winkie  232.3 #1238 6:31PM
i will also add pertussis to this in the way of germs. 3 new cases were reported in my area. no infants this time, but last year 3 infants died from it because they were to young for the vaccines. you never know what the person next to you is harboring. - Lelundrial  345.0 #437 6:32PM
I'd wait till she's fully vaccinated, and her immune system is stronger. - MagicalCaprice  480.6 #252 6:33PM
Totally your decision. Some people don't take newborns out anywhere until they're at least 3 months. My son was 1 month when he went for the first time, had no problems. Whenever you decide to go with her, take lot of pics an enjoy 😊 - LBChica  1560.6 #52 6:34PM
I'd wait at least a month. Under that age, if they end up with a fever, you're looking at a lumbar puncture which is no fun. If you do decide to go, keep the trip short, be extra careful and keep them tucked in the stroller or a snuggly carrier away from germy kids and nosey strangers (everyone always wants to see newborns). Maybe someone can take the two year old on a special big brother trip? I waited until mine was 3 months old and she was pretty interested in the lights and music by that age, giving us smiles. - Polkadobo  372.1 #384 6:53PM
anything younger then 3 months is to young. seriously DL isn't going anywhere. - Lelundrial  345.0 #437 6:31PM
I have a two year old and a four month old and I took my four month old when she was a week old. It was actually really relaxing and nice to get out and just walk around Disneyland. My two year old loved it and I believed it helped her adjust to the new baby, because she saw that we were still focusing on her. The baby slept the whole time and didn't get sick; in fact she has never been sick and we go to Disneyland on a regular basis. My only advice would be to not let any "touchers" around your baby. You know what is best for your baby. - DuckyPirate  186.7 #1827 6:42PM
I think our pediatrician would like you to stay away from public for 1 month. Too many germs. - E-Ticket  776.7 #126 6:42PM
NO but ask your doctor. - Plumiegirl  3529.6 #11 7:12PM
Better safe than sorry. Keep her home. Free advice from a NICU RN. - Bo22  347.5 #433 7:52PM
Not only do you have to worry about germs and such, but also loud noises. Sounds over 90 decibels are not good for children's hearing. And on top of that you run the risk of dishonest people taking off with the extras you need to bring along to keep baby comfy. - mandigutterrose  156.4 #2244 10:26PM
Thats what we were thinking. But we have seen Extreemly young ones there. So we wanted a general conscious. Lol. Might go to the thanksgiving dinner though. We dont have much time left in socal - Jfigg23  254.7 #992 6:35PM
So many new parents we know have taken their newborns out too soon and then wonder why the baby gets sick and ends up in the hospital. Better safe than sorry. - Winkie  232.3 #1238 6:36PM
I suggest to wait at least 3-5mos. The baby will not even know what's going on. Perhaps a family member can babysit and you can enjoy Disney with your older one. - MagicalLove  5.3 #10309 6:44PM
Lol. It her age. You can view but no touch. Lol. Our doc said getting out is okay. And if we did go it would only be to walk the park for a few hours. Or maybe just the fireworks. The 2 yo loves them! Or maybe just me and him will go. - Jfigg23  254.7 #992 6:48PM
I would wait a little bit. It never fails that my kids get sick after a Disney trip. - ❤MellieKay❤  130.4 #2631 6:48PM
The fireworks will still be there when the infant hits 3 months. - Lelundrial  345.0 #437 6:49PM
Maybe asking your doctor is best :) - Spoonful_O_Sugar  439.2 #288 6:56PM
I waited a year so she can actually enjoy whay she sees. But I only have one. I would say 3 months but it will be winter by then so spring would be good - ChloesDadTim  32.6 #4341 6:57PM
I took my son after his first set of shots. - drktink  29.1 #4497 7:06PM
I didn't take my son until he was a year and a half. Too many germs and sick people. And he really couldn't do too much at that age anyways. I see tiny babies there and worry about all the germs near them. - FanOfJack  63.7 #3570 7:38PM
We are going to DL in a few weeks & will be leaving our 5mo old with grandma. We also have a 4 & 5yr old. Our thinking is that we can take this trip & really focus on our older two, let them know how special they are to us. Also, a baby will never remember such a trip & there are SO many extra things you need to bring when you have a baby. However, do what is best for your fam. We had always planned on bringing our baby until my mom volunteered to keep her. - DisneyLuva4Life  9.0 #7287 10:54PM
I waited till he was almost two months old, after his vaccinations. That way his immune system is a little stronger. Plus, he can hold his head a little stronger and he doesn't have to feed as ofter. But if you do go, utilize the baby center at the parks. It's a life saver there. Can't live without these center these days. - Elaine  406.2 #330 11:04PM
Would wait till older. I love that you meet folks from around the world at Dland but means germs from around the world too. - timetraveler2442  338.6 #452 11:06PM
