My husband and I have a package deal with character dinning included and are taking our son to the parks for his birthday in 2 weeks. We get to chose from Ariel's Grotto or Goofy's Kitchen for our meal. Has anyone taken just their son to eat there? I'm feeling a little bad about going there but the food seems to sound better since it is sit down service. Is this a good choice or does Goofy's Kitchen have the better food? Please help me! :)
I've never been to goofy's kitchen but I have been to Ariel's grotto and since its ur sons bday I would advise against Ariel Haha it really is super princess themed and a meet and greet w the princesses and eatingthere compared to other Disney restaurants the food wasnt that and different neither did it stand out and from what I've heard there's a better section of charecters for your boy to meet at gooy's :) - Jessgiac

We've been to both. Goofy's kitchen is probably better for the boys. They can also get up and dance with them. Ariel's Grotto has only princesses. Goofy's kitchen has goofy, the chipmunks, etc.
The food is not bad either. - FanOfJack

I don't mind the food at Goofys kitchen. My son loves the peanut butter and jelly pizza. He also like the fact the kids buffet was short so he could serve himself. - vegasbrat

My little brother and our cousins loved goofys kitchen. The characters that come around are so interactive it's awesome. Also the food isn't too bad either. And to be honest, I love that place too lol. I go there everytime I go to Disneyland, it's like tradition for me now! - MrLeeFromDisney

Goofy's Kitchen is the better choice, but you look to see if you can do Surfs Up! at the Paradise Pier. There is more interaction with the characters such as dancing and surfing classes. There is you can see Stitch, Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and others. Plus the food is better there. - Daddy & Maddy Fett

Take him to Goofy's Kitchen. My son and I don't like the princess stuff, so we avoid the ariel place. With Goofy's Kitchen, you get different characters coming through. We did see Cinderella there 2 different times. My son wouldn't talk to her. It is buffet style, but can ask them to make you an omelette. - Lelundrial

I'd say Goofy's Kitchen. It's an all you can eat Buffett and there is a wide variety of characters that really take the time to meet you for pictures and autographs and even some laughs! - rbeezy
