Has anyone ever rented an electric wheel chair at Disneyland? My family keeps trying to talk me into it because my hip starts hurting after an hour of walking around the park. My fear is that I might run over someone! LOL!

My mom always needed one to get around, she ran many people over. The problem is people are dragging (or being drug by) their kids and never look down. It's difficult to get thru crowds because people will step right in front of the wheelchair and practically stick their feet right under the chair and ultimately, the wheels. Be prepared with patience but rest assured, even if you do run over a foot or two, while it smarts a little, you'll cause no permanent damage and may teach a couple people to watch where they are walking, I've learned my lesson several times growing up at the side of her powerchair lol - ljoy  5.1 #10285 1:50PM
Only problem is if someone does get hurt you are liable not Disney. Remember your in Sueafornia. - Evilstitch  330.3 #474 1:58PM
It has been awhile, but if you keep a careful eye out for little ones, the big ones will be okay. - SorcererBHhaha  408.5 #319 11:39AM
I've rented one a couple times. You'll be fine. I'm blind in one eye and I did ok lol. Just go slow and don't floor it if there are lots of people, b/c people often will change directions at any given time around ya. You can do what I did and just have a family member walk along side you to help you through the crowds. - OCdrumGuy  549.0 #203 11:49AM
Lo is there a way to "floor it" on one of these? - pridegirl  377.3 #362 12:09PM
I believe cost is about $40-60. I Almost rented one at the Paradise Hotel when I was staying, but decided to take it easy at hotel after all. - soco45  112.6 #2861 12:14PM
The Grand Californian also rents them out and they also can have someone pick it up at your hotel. - beastntinkerbell  7.6 #7843 12:20PM
They're $72. With a $20 refundable deposit.. So $52. You need to get it early, as they rent out fast on busy days - CMsMom  445.2 #276 1:31PM
My mom was afraid of the same thing. Her hip hurts because of arthritis. She did good till she rammed into the small world trash can, backed up and did it again :) - FaithTrustPixiedust  22.7 #4839 1:36PM
I have my own cart, but the battery wont last all day. I rent them all the time. It makes it a great day for me and my wife - azdan9299  232.5 #1206 1:48PM
If you are going for several days and staying nearby you can rent from an offsite company for much less and have it delivered to your hotel. The scooters are smaller and easier to manuever too. Practice on the scooters at walmart or target before you go. I use one for multi day trips because of arthritis in my hips and it makes my days so much more fun not being in pain and slowing everyone down. - kerbear  205.5 #1545 2:07PM
Thank you everyone for all the great advice. I'm am definitely renting one when I go next month. - topdisneymom  239.7 #1119 5:14PM
