MouseWait probably would not have been born without Steve Jobs' vision of the app store and the iPhone. This is definitely a sad day as we lose one of the great innovators of our time - he was also Disney's largest shareholder and Pixar would not have survived without him - so he has had a profound effect on Disney as we know it. Post your memories of Steve Jobs here and how he has affected your life - I personally remember hearing about his app store announcement and knowing I would have to make a Disneyland app - I was so excited when I heard he was doing this and I knew the app store would be a game changer in so many ways

thank you for posting this admin! I worked for apple for some time and by far is one of the best jobs I had. There we were all family and I guesse you can say jobs was our big papa! If it was not for this mans ideas, creations and innovations, I honestly would not be who I am today. Thanks to him I am honestly a graphic designer:)! I will forever remember my time at apple some of the best times of my life and for that thank you steve you will be missed but NEVER forgotten now go make great things in heaven I expect a apple pat. A friend told me a story about an employee at pixar who had a child in need of a life saving operation. The surgeon they needed would not come to CA to operate. Steve Jobs heard about this and called the surgeon himself. He came to CA. I'm sure there are lots more stories like this one. A great man who will be missed. - happiestplace

Also, if he hadn't co-founded Pixar, then I would have never wanted to look into becoming an annimator for Pixar because it wouldn't exist. When I first learned about him was when I was in HS doing a little report for my economics class. Now that I understand what he did for the world, he really touched everyone in some way, from revolutionizing the music business to creating computers that I use at school to edit videos on, to the technology that MW uses. I remember driving by the Apple campus everyday on my way to DeAnza College while studying film & design...hoping to one be cool enough to work there. Steve Jobs changed my life; it's not just about what he created, but it was his vision and insight on creativity that helped fuel my very own ambition & motivation to do what I love in life. I'll never forget watching my friend work in Photoshop on his PowerMac in 1997 as an intern for Disney and being totally inspired to do the same, so I did. I bought my very first Apple PowerMac. I have him to thank for making me a writer. I was so determined to get a MacBook that I didn't stop taking jobs until I had enough money. Having the iPhone and iPad meant I could test apps, and then I moved on to writing tech articles. So without him and the culture he created around his devices, I wouldn't be able to work from home.
