I just got an awesome idea!! I don't really get many Christmas presents anymore and I don't really give to many either. How much fun would it be to do a Mouse Wait Gift Exchange??? I could be in charge of matching up everyone with the person that they are giving a gift to. Everyone would get a gift for someone and get a gift from someone else! I'm sure the idea needs tweaking but I'm open for suggestions and we have plenty of time. We could either set up a time where we could all meet in the park and exchange gifts or we could send them through the mail. Or both for those that can't make it to the park. I'm loving this idea! Does anyone else like it? Are you going to be part of this? Has it been done before? Please give me your input and constructive criticism! Let's get a ton of people in on it!!

I think this has the potential to be disastrous because what happens when someone flakes? I have been in many groups that have done this and there are always a handful of ppl who flake leaving ppl empty handed. - Dahulagirl

I'd like to participate. I've also done online exchanges. You need a sign-up by date, mail by date, and money amount. When people sign up they can tell a little about themselves so it's easier to shop for. - MXPrincess399

I would definately participate. Only concern is a thread a while back in which a lot of people (way more than I would have expected) stated that they never received RAKs. Same thing could occur with this, however I would be willing to donate an extra "gift" to deal with the people that don't come through. - msdizmaui

I think there should be a minimum and maximum amount as some people would be over generous and spend a lot and others get the minimum. Could make some feel odd if some get tickets or hotel stays and someone else gets a pin. Big difference there. - LilSterner

I've done a gift exchange through mail before and it went smoothly. There has to be someone organizing it (matching names up, getting addresses etc.), and also a few people willing to send extra gifts in the event of the occasional flakers. I'm sure a ton of people on here will participate (including myself) it's a great idea so I think you should start it. You should have a list of questions each person has to answer so the giver has an idea of what the person likes because no one wants to end up with something they don't like :) - Tink

@PartyMousterAIR, organizing this whole thing won't be a problem. My girlfriend( Aliceinwondergrl), SammyyBabyy and Phillylovescake and I will take charge of that. We will make sure everything is organized. @Mozbaby, I like the idea of a bottom limit of $10 per gift but I dont think there should be a top limit. I think people should be able to give priceless gifts, hotel stays, Disneyland passes and things like that. @Tink, I kind of like the idea of a survey about the person that you are giving a gift too but I also like the mystery of not knowing. And, that creates a lot of future possibilities for RAK's.

I really like this idea. and tonyjord I will help organize! we can have people send us small wishlists or something for ideas of things that they like and then give it to the person who gets them along with an address. I'm thinking that everyone that signs up has to either be able to meet in the park on a specific day or ship a gift out. Everyone must be able to afford at least a $10 gift. I'm thinking we can start it on November 1st and end it on the last day of November. Does anyone else want to participate or have suggestions?

SkellyMouseCM, I think what I'm going to do is ask a few people if they will be willing and able to send gifts to an extra person in the case that we have flakers and or lost packages. I want this to be fun for everyone so I'll do all that I can to make it work best.

Cmon DahulGirl. You're the inventor of the RAK. You of all people should have faith in the humanity of Mouse Waiters. My plan to take care of the flakers is to have a group of people that are willing to have a secone gift on hand. From the feedback so far, it seems to me that at least a few people will be willing to do that.

I'm with dahula. With this sort of thing, I think it's best done in person. In the mail, there should be a MUCH smaller amount, and there should be a limit or the items should be comparable. Also with doing it in person, you can have that group with the extra gifts to cover any flakes (for lack of a better term) and it not be awkward. It's kinda like having an extra white elephant gift for the few extra people who show up without RSVPing. I've been doing a lot of thinking about this. I'm thinking we may want to split it into 2 groups. A group of people that are willing and able to meet in person, in the park, at a certain time, on a certain date. And another group of people that can't make it at that time that will trade through the mail. I have read comments by @msdizmaui, @partymousterAIR and maybe even @Disneymomof4 that lead me to believe that there are a few people that would be willing to donate extra gifts. Any more ideas? Keep 'em coming!
