@bubbak1988 He's recuperating from
foot surgery so he has a very legitimate reason for being in the wheel chair. - VillainsFan

Just because he doesn't have a cast or bandage on does not mean he doesn't have a legitimate injury or illness. Please don't comment on something in such a way before you know the whole story. - JediStitch

Calm down. I don't think it meant to be like that. It was just an honest saying. No disney love in this post. - EveandWalle

so anytime you see somebody in a wheel chair you assume that they are faking it? next time at the parks you should go around and ask them as well in person - Dave
8821.7 #2 1:33AM
great group, @bubba you gotta remember not all injuries/sicknesses are visible. i work in patient care and you can't assume something just by looking at someone. - chris.

As a person who has a close family member who is mentally handicapped tell me about all the people he sees "faking" it to cut in line, hurts me. Why would you fake a disability like that. To answer your question... No. I would never once think someone in a wheel chair was faking it. I'm sure they have a reason. Now I'm upset. Night. - EveandWalle
226.8 #1309 1:45AM
Maybe you should have stayed out of it, huh??? - Kenry

If someone came up to my son in a wheelchair and said he was faking it they would need a wheelchair!!! - Rob512
755.1 #134 1:51AM
@eveandwalle I teach and am a caretaker for severly handicapped children. Bubba's comment was inappropriate. Not all disabilities and illnesses are visible. Your defending his comment seemed innapopriate as well which is why people are going to comment! - Kenry

So everyone here is ok with me renting a wheel chair faking an injury and cutting in line??? Why are you all never at the parks when Im there doing that!?!? (ps I have never done that.) - Sam241
475.6 #259 2:15AM
I have to comment on this since when I am in the parks I am in a wheel chair because of my Muscular Dystrophy. To refer to someone in a wheelchair as a line cutter is repulsive. Disneyland was built before the Americans with Disabilities Act ever existed. But Disneyland is amazing and very compliant with the laws. Short of shutting down and refurbishing every ride line to make it wide enough for a wheelchair they have us go through the exits. If you pay attention when they created Disney California they made the lines wider for those of us in wheelchairs to fit and "stand" in line with the rest of the park members until we have to be taken to a special loading area. So again referring to those in wheelchairs as line cutters is a very uneducated and rude thing to say. There...I am done. - sweetkat
285.6 #709 4:21AM
VERY well said sweetkat. @Bubba If you meant to say that as a general statement, it was poorly done. As others have said, not all injuries are visible so to assume that someone faked an injury to get a wheelchair is ignorant. - LBChica
1560.4 #52 4:35AM
Srry I just have to add that those in wheelchairs have challenges of their own with other guests at the parks...my sister Hurt herself at the pirate show dinner the day before she went to the park but she ended up having to be in a wheelchair all week and some ppl just climbed over the top of her to get in front of her group....I am annoyed that someone could be that unsympathetic about ppl who have to deal with that by asking if they are " faking it" ok I'm done! - stitchgrl434

Actually, I have seen people in the parks using wheelchairs to cut in line. Not really worth making a stink over Does PC's patch say DOMOer? - KissDclown
1088.4 #77 7:35AM
Not defending anyone on this post but really people? He said he hopes he was not faking, and that he hates when people fake it to cut in line. People do fake it to cut in line, I have seen it myself (IE acting like you cant walk, go on the ride, get off the ride and switch out of the wheel chair with a friend and get back in line.) I don't assume anyone in a wheel chair is faking it, but let's be honest people do abuse the system. Saying that you hope a person is not abusing the system is not an assumption that they are... How is anything in his statement an assumption that the person is the photo was faking it. Break it down and read it, "I really hope the guy in the wheelchair has a reason" Who doesn't hope that a person is not abusing the system by lying. You don't have to assume a person is lying to hope that they are not. "I really hate people that fake injuries and cut in line." who doesn't feel this way? If you found out a person was faking an injury to cut in line wouldn't you be upset? Anyways, I have no desire to really defend anyone I just don't see the "Assumption" everyone seems to be getting from his statement. It's not different then saying "I really hope this is real chocolate, I hate it when it's fake chocolate" no where in there am I assuming it's fake, I'm just hoping it's real. Exact same type of statement, let's be a little less argumentative and a little more FUN! :-) Love you all, Sam241 - Sam241

Anyone who did that and then posted a pic of themselves or their friend doing so would have to be beyond stupid. - BLG
1049.5 #84 7:40AM
Why would anyone even actually accuse someone of faking? Sure, it's ok to think it and complain to your friends, but to publicly say it, especially in this forum? UNCOOL - ima-pirateswife
