So who here spent their grad night at disneyland? It's been a tradition for a very long time now. I am a senior in high school (senior class pres actually :) ) and this is the first year our seniors will NOT be doing grad night at Disneyland :( Disneyland change their grad night policies. And instead of it being from like 10pm to 6am it's half way through the day till like 3am. Which means it's not closed for students, which means more crowds, which means less schools can go. We're on a waiting list but I had to pick another grad night location :( oh well. Just thought I'd share that with MW. But on the bright side I planned a senior trip to Disneyland instead :D

I spent gradnite at disneyland, 2010. :) it was fun but I thought it was too crowded. were were there from 10 pm - 7am the next morning. I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't do it over again. :) - PrincessMacy  501.6 #235 4:07PM
My school didn't do Grad Night. My husband's school did. He still talks about it. But he says Disneyland is way more fun when you're an adult anyway because you can afford to go whenever you want and buy whatever you want. =) - Yoshi  257.2 #932 4:12PM
Really? I heard that dl would be doing this year's (2012) at both parks then switching over next year's to CA Only - staygoldponyboy  12.9 #6053 4:52PM
I did mine in 05 and loved it! - Jackie211  472.2 #255 4:55PM
Oh wow. I wonder if something happened to make them change their policy. I went in 2008 for my grad night and it was amazing. I hope something works out for your school tho ! - CMWalker  323.3 #507 4:56PM
The year I graduated, was the year the school decided not to do grad nite. - Lelundrial  341.0 #427 4:56PM
I worked one this past summer. Even met a few MWers there too! - BaseballMickey_CM  2827.5 #16 4:57PM
WCHS 1999. they were building DCA and you had to walk for miles. Danced all night. - WeMetAtDisneyLand  41.8 #3940 5:00PM
I'm glad they changed it. - disney42dude(CM)  521.7 #222 5:03PM
Basically the students get a parkhopper ticket starting sometime in the afternoon until closing. Then they all get to head over to CA (this year- each year they will alternate parks) which will have closed early, and will celebrate there until 3 am. Seems more efficient for logistics, and I'm sure once people get used to it, it will be just as fun. My grad night sucked, but all my friends were juniors. My older sister chaperoned and kept me company, lol. - brit-brit  298.3 #616 5:04PM
In my opinion, DL is a lot better during the day, rather than during the early hours of the morning. As the morning goes on, more and more students will start sleeping on the benches outside and are wasting their money being there. If you go during the day, its brighter and more like a normal day. - BaseballMickey_CM  2827.5 #16 5:10PM
I went to grad nite two years ago. it sucked! was not Disneyland! everyone was on drugs - dakota  93.6 #3103 5:14PM
I didn't go for grad night I guess we didn't have one but could've went with someone else I have the AP and I'd rather go during the day instead of grad night I heard it was thrashy this year - princessVanessa  382.5 #352 5:16PM
Grad night in 2003. It was so much fun and such a long night. I much rather have it in the late afternoon/early morning but it sucks that it is not students only. And students only does not mean that there are less crowds. It was PACKED on our grad night and the more popular rides had LONG waits. - DisneyBride°O°  366.5 #379 5:23PM
Thanks for all the feedback. I appreciate it. It's interesting to "hear" everyones stories. :) - bridgettebunny  16.8 #5405 9:54PM
Grad night was my second trip to DL. Girls had to wear dresses. Cool & the Gang performed. Anyone wanna guess the year? Lol. We had a 7 hour bus ride to get there and we all changed in the bus in the parking lot. - lisacat  254.9 #961 11:56PM
Our school almost did not go to Grad NIte in 1986. Someone didn't check the mail and we almost missed the deadline, thankfully I came across it in the nick of time (I was in ASB) But we had to do it in May, a few weeks before our actual grad night. I was the coordinator so I got a free ticket to Disneyland for the Grad Nite meeting, it was held in the Mr. Lincoln auditorium. And yes, I remember kids sleeping in benches and a lot of drug use too way back then :-( - PrincessDuckie  586.9 #187 12:02AM
That is such a bummer!! I loved my Grad Nite @ Disneyland! It was the first time I went to the park w/o my parents & brother! I can't believe that it was 14 years ago!! Time flies!! Hope you guys get to go!! - belle421  14.4 #5762 12:04AM
my school doesnt do grad night at disneyland, but if your in any sort of extra curricular activity they find some way to fit a trip to DL during the year haha - acpowers13  148.8 #2304 12:04AM
Disneyland wasn't an option for our grad night. So weak sauce. - vincentchase  640.6 #169 12:20AM
I had grad night at Disneyland back in 1999. And it was more crowded then the busiest day during the summer. But flow the restaurants were turned into dance clubs by all the radio stations. - HauntedMushu  244.8 #1054 12:25AM
My Grad Nite was on 09, it was such a fun time with all my friends. Probably the first and only night we had some "clean ol fun" lines weren't bad either I've been in worse during the holiday months. We didn't sleep one bit either not until the bus ride home lol. - HisLilo  198.8 #1648 1:35AM
Sounds like a lot of you enjoyed your grad night. My whole school is completely bummed. But life goes on :) - bridgettebunny  16.8 #5405 10:03PM
I went in '05 and it was fun, but I've had a lot more fun on my trips after that. If the students get to go to DCA now also then that's awesome! I agree w BBM-CM though, I think it would be a lot more fun during thr day time. I hope you have a great time on your senior trip! :) - Mr. Fredrickson  120.4 #2729 10:09PM
I went in '03 and I actually thought it wasn't worth the money. Our bus was super late so we missed the beginning stuff, barely any rides were open, way too many people, and by 3 am we were all passed out in Gibson's on the tables exhausted. Oh and for dress code we had to wear skirts and dress clothes and we were FREEZING! definitely wish I would have just saved the money towards a senior trip with friends or something to Disneyland. - ❤MellieKay❤  130.4 #2583 10:09PM
I spent Grad Night there in '75. We were bussed in and strict dress code. - Tinkerdu5  3.6 #16294 11:06PM
I did and I was miserable. Long lines! Feel asleep on a bench. - ilovemickey8  321.6 #513 11:13PM
