Long story short, there were several factors that lead to the under population of Chinook Salmon. EX- ocean conditions, newly placed damns in the river systems, and comercial fishing consumption- all factors leading to the low salmon numbers. Which lead to CA, OR, and parts of WA closing ther salmon season for several years. Tmrow marks the first day of the season. I do not believe that it's a smart decision to open the season, but if DFG thinks we can.... well that's their decesion.
