have you tried the Disneyland Encyclopedia? There's a little info about the history of the park in there. Also, if you can, get a copy of the Walt Documentary that was on MSNBC. They talk a lot about his background and his ideas. Also, the old "Disneyland" shows that used to be on TV. Walt himself talked about audio-animatronics when showing us the birds of the Tiki Room.
